zoloft?

Question:

I’ve been taking 100mg of Zoloft daily.  It has helped me immensly!  There are some side effects though, but nothing that will effect daily living.  I feel great and I’m doing things that I never thought I’d do!  It took a few weeks to kick in, but it’s worth it to me!  Give it a shot!

hi kids, havent been here in awhile. i know it’s rude not to post and then ask advice, but i need it. wellbutrin didnt work so well, im back to point 0. doc said zoloft is a good one, and since ive now tried everything else…..   does anyone have any knowledge? does it help panic? * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find

hi bree- don’t worry, everyone has a right to get help and support, you’re not required to post a lot. i have been on zoloft a while and i think it is pretty good. the side effects at the very beginning scared me, not that they are that bad, but i didn’t really expect them. i only felt any bad effects for the first week, then when it got raised for five days, and when it raised again two days (so it gets less each time). anyway, it’s hard for me to judge how much it has helped the panic. it’s supposed to i know. it’s really hard for me to tell what med helps what and how much. one thing i can say for sure, if you have depression as a result of the anxiety or in addition it should help that for sure. i had struggled with the depression stuff for years and after the zoloft, i haven’t felt depressed at all almost. i mean there have been rough times, and very panicky moments, but i have not felt down the way i used to. to me that in itself is worth it. i think it has helped the panic attacks, some of the symptoms of them, but i think i also have a lot of random symptoms that might be some other mental disorder or just the ptsd even which it hasn’t done anything with. anyway, that’s just my opinion and my experience. i think it is worth a shot though if it has a chance even of helping. there isn’t really much downside. just make sure you ask your dr any qquestions you have and try to take it easy at first if  you can. good luck and keep us updated les. hi kids, havent been here in awhile. i know it’s rude not to post and then ask advice, but i need it. wellbutrin didnt work so well, im back to point 0. doc said zoloft is a good one, and since ive now tried everything else…..  does anyone have any knowledge? does it help panic? * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can

Hi Bree, Don’t worry about asking advice and not posting, that is no problem at all. I can understand Wellbutrin being of little use to you as most of the time all it does is exacerbate anxiety. Zoloft, an SSRI antidepressant, is often succesfully used for PAD. You should start low (the suggested dose is 12,5 mg) and raise the dose slowly, in weekly increments of 12,5 mg or at whatever pace is comfortable for you. In order to further avoid or at least minimize initial side effects you might want to have a benzo at hand. You should give Zoloft 6-8 weeks for a fair trial but you may well feel better much sooner. Hi Bree, It sure helped me a lot. It took a couple months for the full therapeutic response but I started noticing improvements with panic attacks not being so intense right away. YMMV,hope it works for you as well. Charla
