What's the diagnosis?

Question:

You can sleep for 14 hours, but if you aren’t going into the 4th stage of sleep (Alpha sleep) (like Fibromyalgics), you are not truly sleeping SOUNDLY.  Thus, stress, illness, aching, and depression. This is how we found my Fibromyalgia.  Definitely related to trauma in your life…happened to me after I lost my Dad.  Also, PTSD.  Needs that evaluation as well.  Does he always have aches and pains and flu like symptoms?  We need to talk about this one.  I have LOTS of info. if you are interested. Placid thinks he’s schizoid.  I think he’s ADD with bouts of major depression.  He grew up in a family where he was the only "normal" one except for his mom who passed away a year ago.  Can’t imagine losing my mom at 21…at all.  He spent years taking care of her and always kept himself in isolation.  He’s sick all the time now.  Never has good sleep, even with 14 hours of it.  Do any of you in here have a good enough feel of him to provide a new perspective?  This is probably stupid. Extremely frustrated. Ang

Response:

Just a guess: He is stressed from his new living arrangement and role in life, especially if he was accustomed to being alone ("isolation").  This can have an impact on the immune system.  I remember when I first moved to a new area I became ill several times in rapid succession.  It was a result of stress from the move, new environment, new job, etc… Once again, just a thought.
