Highs: I went to my 25 year highschool reunion class of 1976. I wasn’t going to but was talked into it by an old friend who drove me there and back. i am very glad!!!!It was just So amazing.Too short but wonderful.I didn’t remember how lovely all those people were and how close we were.Couldn’t recognise 70% of the men tho until their name tag was in view and their mannerisms showed thru.:-) Lows: The reunion was a short break from 24/7 anxiety and depression.Unfortunately the palps. etc are back in full force( weeks now) and of course the let down after the party is BIG. Shrink has put me on a med regime for 2 weeks. I will call in here from time to time. helski

I’m having some problems with my neck…all summer now. Had an MRI at the VA, but of course, no phone call as to what the "problem" might be. They found nothing with an X-Ray. Sounds like fibromyalgia (sp?). Group had a little talk about soft muscle pain and PTSD last week. It’s a ‘killer’ with no cure … seems to get worse with stress. :/ > What’s this pain patch?

IMHO, PTSD and fibromyalgia are over-lapping disorders, possibly caused by the same sorts of dysfunction, but being expressed somewhat differently in different people. In the second segment of the "Supplements for PTSD" I’ll get into the chronic pain angle more. One of the problems with opiate pain therapy is that the body adjusts to the opiate by down-regulating the pain-suppression receptor sites. You can prevent that effect by taking dextromethorphan, a semi-synthetic opioid which has little psychoactive effect at lower doses. Dextromethorphan was developed to replace codeine in the anti-tussive medications (cough suppressant) used for respiratory tract infections. You can get DXM over the net at https://ssl4.crystaltech.com/healthcarepharma/ There’s nothing illegal about DXM. OK Lows: I’m tired of being traumatized when folks (mainly men lately) come here to work. I seem to huddle in a daze and get so distracted that I make no progress anywhere. :/ Highs: looks like the building visits have stopped … Monday they will scrub down the new brick with water and brooms, I make my last payment and peacefulness might just descend upon my home! Lows: my daughter has been into emerg twice this week for a racing heart. It’s definitely something "electrical"; she’s probably okay but lots of tests to be done now. I’ve had sky-high anxiety and a worsening of symptoms and a new flashback, and I’m just so worried. Highs: The support from friends I’ve had through the week. Just found out that someone I know knows a great paediatric cardiologist, and hopefully I can get a referral. Glad to hear how everyone’s doing. Hannah

Hmmm….lows is easy, the invasion here at astp sucked. Other low is pretty normal for me, chronic pain. However, my HIGH is very promising…a new pain medication treatment known as the pain patch. Its a 72 hour medication that has been putting me at about a "5" on the pain scale so doc upped it yesterday. I’m hoping and praying that the doubled dose will put me at a 1 or 2 someday =) The other high was a great visit back home at mom’s. The house she’s in has been in our family since before I was born and it restores and rests my soul to go visit her there. My girl also loves it because granny is great and she has more critters there that the kiddo loves. We got to take mom’s pooch to the groomer and he looked like another dog when he was done. He needed it badly and I was so happy to be able to help her out by doing it for her and for the kiddo.
