weekly check in

Question:

tis the time again for all you kats and kitties to check in and let us know how your week went – hi’s lo’s etc my week was unremarkable — RB for personal information, just hold down the alt key and press F4

Response:

Well my week is just a thrill…….the master bath is in the middle of a renovation, all torn apart, the dogs I’m caring for have arrived.  Monty, the lab pup is methodically destroying my possessions and hasn’t figured out where she’ll sleep tonight yet.  She’s going from room to room, pacing the house.  So far she’s eaten a couple stuffed animals, a bar of my white almond soap (at six bucks a pop!) my favorite shower scrubbie, (you know, those ‘net thingies’ ), a blue bow off the christmas tree, and peed on the hall bathroom floor.  I can tell this is going to be a relaxing week! td "Rudolph Berthold" <rberth…@canada.com> wrote in message

Well, the never-ending war with water in my back yard entered a new phase: the landscaper has to install drop boxes (small field drains) as all my pavers are under water and the entrances to the tiles block up faster than the rain comes down.  I guess that I’ve had this problem for 2 years (the tiles and pavers are that old), but I never saw it before … talk about my lack of focus. :) I have no idea what’s going on in my brain which suddenly sent me to two movies: Ocean’s Eleven: the story of what my life was supposedly about (Julia, of course :) The Spy Game: the story of what happened to many of us in the 1960s and 1970s (Brad Pitt) and what we wished had happened (Robert Redford) YMMV on my opinions of these two movies; I liked Spy Game better. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Things are looking up.  Saw the p-doc last week, she adjusted my meds again, so I can beat the "morning after" hangover.  It’s working.  : ) Getting out of my "dark" spell.  Cleaned the house yesterday (looked like a tornado went through, hadn’t touched it in over a week?  but anyway, feel a lot better with my house clean) Had to have my computer redone.  A friend came down last night and reformatted my hard drive, and also put in some new programs.  : )  So imagine I’ll be playing with those trying to figure them out.  Computer’s working MUCH better now!  *big grin* kat "Rudolph Berthold" <rberth…@canada.com> wrote in message

Probably true about a clean house giving you good vibes. But … only a week?  Are you sure you have PTSD??  How about 5 years for deep cleaning and 6 months between light cleanings? Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

For some reason I’m a bit down. Had a thrilling last week, though: Became friends with stand-up comedian (quite funny), started singing Beatles tunes with him (possible future pub gigs) and put out two fires…the same Thursday evening!Felt like "the Original Super Woman" -or at least Lassie. I guess I’m beginning to miss having a boyfriend. Broke up from B. in the summer. I think about him and his 7-year old son when I go Christmas shopping…We still keep in touch, and I’ll go there to keep up the contact with the boy, Markus…but last year, this time,I felt they were my future. Now, they’re part of my past and present… Lotte "Rudolph Berthold" <rberth…@canada.com> skrev i meddelandet news:xLBS7.76441$Z2.1101847@nnrp1.uunet.ca… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> tis the time again for all you kats and kitties to check in and let us know > how your week went – hi’s lo’s etc > my week was unremarkable > — > RB > for personal information, > just hold down the alt key and press F4

Nancy, "Only a week" Thanks Nancy, just what I didn’t need right now.  What I saw as a major accomplishment, not staying in the "darkness" for 1-6 months,  you’re criticizing. As for whether or not I’m sure I have PTSD, guess you’d have to talk with my therapists and p-docs.  I only know what THEY’VE told me.  I never knew what was going on with me until I got into therapy 12 years ago.  That was the diagnosis then, and according to my t now, same diagnosis, with DID thrown into the shooting match. kat p.s. I guess our ptsd affects us all differently. I use housework as a distraction and also because I feel worse when I look around and see a pig sty. I like lines in the carpet!   I know lots of people have all their doo-dads and knick-knacks but I see something at a store I usually say"Oh, that’s cute" but leave it because I also see it as another thing to dust. You know those pressurized air dusters that are for electronics and keyboards? Just add them to my list of favorite things. I imagine those here that talk about not doing housework have some physical problems also. Need any help, just yell… Shannon Still trying to get my landlord to let me in his place for an hour, get rid of the rodent sized dust bunnies.

"> I imagine those here that talk about not doing housework have some physical > problems also. Need any help, just yell…

YELLING LOUDLY     ‘HELP’…….. My back makes it so hard to vacuum…..bending and lifting things to dust is murder too, but easier than the ‘pulling motion’ of vacuuming.  And things like cleaning the bathroom sinks, the angle you lean at to do it.  I do these things, except the vacuuming, I usually have to find somebody to do that one for me.  When I do it myself I can’t straighten up and walk for days afterwards.  But something as simple as cleaning those sinks and my back pain is so much worse for at least a week afterwards.  I used to have a super clean house……now the most I can manage is to try to ‘catch up’ on things.  There’s always something hanging over my head that needs to be cleaned because I can only manage to do one or two things a day and then it takes forever for the pain to let up enough to try to conquer another task.  Thanks Shannon for pointing that out. tiny dancer – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Shannon > Still trying to get my landlord to let me in his place for an hour, get rid of > the rodent sized dust bunnies.

I only meet up with the -11 cause I was out taking pictures of the Leonid meteor shower at 5 am (still catching up on the sleep interruption :) .  The cold did in my batteries after only a few pictures and by the time I had warmed them up again, it was too bright to catch any more. That trips me out! I crossed the bridge one day was flying down the QEW towards Toronto. My school lessons paid off, I knew I was speeding. I heard a thump thump, and a shadow appeared on the road, looked up and a helicopter is sweeping the road. A mile down the road is big smokie, pointing his radar and flagging people to stop. I think they had like 6 cars pulled over. It’s one of the only times I’ve played dumb, batted the lashes. "But officer, I’m an American and look, my speedometer doesn’t do kilometers (very old car). He didn’t believe me so I got out and let him get in for a peek. hehhehehe!  He gave me this little math lesson and let me go. Shannon

Posted from my sister-in-laws. Showed her this ng and some other sites. She’s busy with 3 kid’s under 5, doesn’t know this stuff exists. She wants to find some help for my brother. She had her family over for Thanksgiving. My 3 yr. old niece jumped up on the dinner table, did a little dance, and my brother smacked her pretty hard, yanked her down. The in-laws went crazy, a fight broke out and my brother said "Fuck This", threw his hunting gear in his truck, took off, and no one’s seen him since. She won’t admit it but I think he’s smacked her around too. He doesn’t sleep, is always intense, can’t deal with the kids. I dunno, I would have left him along time ago. He’s like a timebomb. She had better find help for herself first.  IME I had to learn that I did NOT deserve, earn or need behavior like this before anyone else got any serious help.
