Question:
I’ve always had extremely vivid dreams and a highly active daydream life. It’s like I think WAY too much all of the time. I’m wondering if there is a connection between an overactive/creative mind and anxiety. Thoughts?
Hi Jennifer! I had the same nightmare for years and years and I know it’s connected to PTSD. I hardly ever have that nightmare anymore. I’ve also had very vivid dreams most of my life. Only until recently, taking a little extra Ativan at night, have I been unable to remember most of my dreams. I guess you could say I’m a daydreamer and have always been. That was a good question. I never thought about a connection between having an overactive mind and being an anxiety sufferer. Di

I too have extremely vivid dreams and it seems to be worse now that I am taking Venlaflaxine. While the dreams are not unpleasant (in fact some are the opposite!)I don’t feel like I have had a good night’s sleep and wake up sometimes quite drained. I think you are right about the imagination/anxiety link. Perhaps as a group we are too introspective and take things at a much deeper level than people without these problems. Got questions? Hi Jennifer, I have always been a dreamer as far back as I can remember. Some dreams that I had many years ago I can remember like I dreamt it last night. I also have a few dreams that I dream over and over, however that has lessened as I have gotten older. I am also prone to bouts of nightmares. Since being on paxil my dreaming has increased even more and is incredibly vivid, however, that seems to be decreasing the last month or so. I am very suggestible and have to be careful of what I watch before falling alseep. Last night I was dozing off when the weather channel was talking about hurricanes and sure enough I had a dream that I was trapped in a house during a hurricane
) I don`t know if there is a connection, I just know this is how it is for me!! Good question and I am curious to see more replys. Take care. Jackie
