Response:
I attended a talk by Dr. Patrick Carnes yesterday, and picked up a brochure on the facility he is working at now. Carnes is probably the biggest expert anywhere on sex addiction, and has a substantial background in PTSD. He has authored a number of books on sex addiction. Not to run an advertisement for this place, but they are offering a workshop for Veterans with PTSD, and it’s the first I’ve ever seen that’s Vet specific, so I though I’d share it. It’s called the Wounded Warrior Project, and the flier says it’s for Vietnam and Korea Veterans with PTSD. It doesn’t say anything else about it. The facility is: The Meadows 1655 N. Tegner Wickenburg, AZ 85390 1 (800) MEADOWS (520) 684-3926 They also have a bunch of workshops, inpatient and outpatient, on sex addiction, for those of us whose trauma included being sexually traumatized. At the risk of hearing the same old answer (i.e. NO), I am inquiring if WACs, WAVES, WAFS and Women Marines are included in the Wounded Warrior designation above. I am not inquiring about nurses in any of the services, just the ‘regular’ women soldiers. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy
