The Cause of Bipolar Disorder

Question:

Dear Rev, I have noticed in many of my sermons to the heathen on the benefits of Emotional Enhancement, that I easily win over many converts.

Oh puleeeezzze!!!! I believe it has something to do with the fact that I normally preach from my Mercedes,

UNPAID Mecedes. with the top down. The heathen are gerneraly impressed, reaching out to get a touch of the hem of my auto upholstery.

Which you are constantly polishing…OCD anyone?????? Where is the loot…uh, where are the mean donations?? And where is my cutt…ah..I mean stipend? Yours in Service, Sistah Lhyndahh – Keeper of the Monies Reach beyond your grasp!

People often ask what causes bipolar disorder.  Here is a good answer from a top expert: "Right now, we have no clue what it’s really about." – Jerry Cott, chief of the psychopharmacology research program at the National Institute of Mental Health [quoted from a Washington Post article posted by Lynda] — For more information about this service, send e-mail to:

People want to be known as suffering from bipolar disorder ??????? I thought I was supposed to be crazy :( (( Now I know I haven’t heard it all. I guess the reason you state is plausible, but Bipolar can’t be faked I don’t think. You can lie and say you have it. Who the hell would want to be discriminated against, treated as a second class citizen because of a disease ? God forbid if they actually experienced a true mixed state, I have felt a lot of painful things, but none compare to when both sides of my mind are argueing about everything in the world all at once. Thanks for your input it has stirred some thought in me.

Meds are required and BP wanna be’s exist from romanticizing – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -the positive aspects of this disease and delusional comparison to famous high achievers is common from real and imaginary self qualities.  Wew wsell what do you think?

Response:

Hi Tom. my wacky version says right hemis. brain lesions, resultant biochem imbalance goes to personality fluctuations and circular obessional patterns burned into brain which left untreated leads to slow disintegration then suicide or accidental death.

Welll…sounds good to me :) All that is known is there exists a biochemical imbalance in the brain which results in wide fluctuations in mood. This varies from person to person. I believe some people suffer extreme mood swings while others have milder changes in mood. Drug abuse, violence toward self/others, poor judgement , OCD/PTSD/AADD, form slight psychoses and resultant shame, fear and guilt from these behaviors are complicating factors that stump the pros and ourselves. I agree here. Yes…some people are envious of those of us who accomplish "great" things during our up swings. Wew  wsell what do you think? its off the top of manic self but hey what the hell lets hypothesize for fun and profit ! Everyone else seems to be! I fthis is close to correct then sombody send me something other than the usual dead fish in the mail im used to getting!
