Question:

you got any person to bring? safe person waiting for you to wake up? we think maybe stuffy something to wear under gown!
they won’t let you wear anything under gown until you’re awake enough to put it on yourself. they will let you have stuffy after you get done with "recovery room" part. books earplugs or music?
music might be a good idea. calming music. (dunno, might keep out some screams but if they need to touch us to get our
you expecting to hear lots of screams? why? attention, could make worse.) maybe shawl or something we would so bring a blanket if we didn’t feel so self conscious about what to bring and only day surgery.
stuffy to cuddle. oh, we’re so worried about taking too much too. feel like making big deal about little thing.
stuffy to cuddle and music. then in brain we hear, "it is a big deal!! we are not going to have the arm again!!!"
the docs didn’t tell you that, did they? ugh, much ugh. we get veryveryvery bad ptsd hypervigilance in h places. scream a lot (sometimes like a yip, but sometimes a whole scream.) don’t mean to sososoo much. if could not, would not, cuz it makes things worse an ppl look an we *not* want that. we got a note from doc to tell them this, he know we not want things like that to happen, and also note says that they need to make sure we get our meds for anxiety. what else?

hiya embies i have been foggy lately, why do you need another operation for your arm? and are you going to not be able to type after it? i mean, may i ask for the implications? and oooh for the hospital, i am going to send you as much good energy and thoughts as possible. what to bring?? your favorite book? but won’t you be just sleepy? a hand to hold yours? can you have it? i will hold yours in spirit – ahem of course if it is feeling something and not under sleep from anaesthesie
now young lady, you might have to show me the way also with your courage because lately i am pushing away my own operation and i am avoiding my doctor as if he have the pest because i know he will talk me to go there and i don’t want to anymore ahahahaha, you didn’t expected that isn’t it?? but, seems like i do need inspiration and courage, i am a bit tired myself so, maybe we could do it as for kids when they are so afraid of the seringe for the injection for the vaccination??? ok, so we are both shaky and foggy and scared. would you think we will get a lollypop after?? music? definitely bring a favorite stuffy or two to cuddle. as astri said they won’t let you were anything under your gown until you are awake enough to put it on after being through recovery. If you want to bring a special blanket, go ahead, but you would only have it before and after in the room. As for music — if you have something really calming you like — or if you have a CD of something like waves at the beach or nature sounds or something like that, it might help. Be sure they do get the note from the doctor and insist that you get what you need in your anxiety medications. Also, do you have someone going with you who will be there when you wake up and can hold your hand before the surgery and after? I think that is what we would want the most. We will be reaching out and extending our hand to you as well (of course, that is metaphorically, cause my arm and yours couldn’t reach from Chicago to RI!) personaly would take music of some kind. we take our minidisc plyr most places, for sevral resons, that i like to have music on, n that frankii finds it helps her anxiety when shes out. tho we kinda figured it wasnt always the music that helped her, cos when the baterys ran out, n it was still on, it meant ppl didnt talk to her n ask her questons, or try to sell stuff etc, cos they didnt think shed hear lol. so maybe just wear it without the music if the music will make it worse ;p i would say its probly bout pickin the right kinda music y’know, not somethin thats gonna remind ya of somthin or get ya in a weird mood, somthin upbeat? hi embies, i like what the others said. don’t take your powerbook. things have a way of "disappearing" in places like hospitals. they took my jewelery and watch away and put it in a safe till i was discharged. stuffies is good and music is good. a good book that keeps you engrossed. would they let you watch video’s ?(fun ones) i thought this trip would help your arm be more useful. isn’t that so? i hope it works so you can get over this part of your trauma with it. it’s been a really rough row to hoe for you. other stuff thats happened too. if you want to talk, give me a ring or let me know when your on. k? hope you can be healed in time for the trip to Ca. and meeting old friends. wish i could go this time but i am not living in NEng. anymore. *sigh* i’ll never be able to come up with the air fare the way i’m going. i’ll maybe send a treat for you all or something. you can tell me all about it later.

uh, **big** oops on this guys if we in any way made u think we were going 2 not have an arm after this. we are not having an arm in a way that means that we are not going to be able to *use it* for a while. hi embies,
hihi linda. did we do the fake spammers out thing right? we tried to do yours from memory cuz it was posted w/o it. i like what the others said. don’t take your powerbook.
not even my d’d’s ipod.
things have a way of "disappearing" in places like hospitals.
ya. we afraid of that with stuffy, not that someone would want them for same reason. they took my jewelery and watch away and put it in a safe till i was discharged.
i don;t think they took any of my stuff last time. no, actually, all credit cards and money and stuff was just in my room. crazy. last time tho we did not get to really choose what we brought.
stuffies is good and music is good. a good book that keeps you engrossed. would they let you watch video’s ?(fun ones)
we have no idea what we are getting selves into. we gotta figure out what is going to happen, but last time we went in the place our brain had mud in it. (ok, dissociation, but might as well have been.
i thought this trip would help your arm be more useful. isn’t that so?
yup. we kinda miswrote. hopefully we corrected that mess up. this should make it so they take the metal and stuff out that kept us from healing so now we can heal. i hope it works so you can get over this part of your trauma with it. it’s been a really rough row to hoe for you. other stuff thats happened too. if you want to talk, give me a ring or let me know when your on. k?
k. much thanks. we are betting that before we are all healed up you will be getting a ring.
we are sure ready to be done with this. very ready. hope you can be healed in time for the trip to Ca. and meeting old friends.
we can hope. sure missed it right well last time, eh?
wish i could go this time but i am not living in NEng. anymore. *sigh* i’ll never be able to come up with the air fare the way i’m going.
i feel your sigh, and who am i to complain? but we can dream about a return to NE someday. even for a visit. too bad you can’t get travel miles from how many times you have to travel for docs and stuff now that you are too far from everything. (that could never happen in RI.
i’ll maybe send a treat for you all or something. you can tell me all about it later.
wish i could cell call you from there, but it’s .65 a min there, not like from home. maybe call cards. they are d’ad useful. maybe we can do reverse care package. send you a trout covered in dark almond brickle.
lots of hugs and warm wishes, linda
thanks linda, you’re tops. we hope we can be soon back with our friends and to type whenever we want, more than now. on plus side, we have furniture and a shower curtain now, so life is quite much better. our bathroom is absolutely wal-mart-errific.
*much affection* (i think that is allowable here. irl we would sqoosh you with a hug, you know.

hihi ‘chelle, definitely bring a favorite stuffy or two to cuddle. as astri said they won’t let you were anything under your gown until you are awake enough to put it on after being through recovery.
recovery stinks. they don’t give you morphine until you can breathe properly, the stinkers.
<g If you want to bring a special blanket, go ahead, but you would only have it before and after in the room. As for music — if you have something really calming you like — or if you have a CD of something like waves at the beach or nature sounds or something like that, it might help. Be sure they do get the note from the doctor and insist that you get what you need in your anxiety medications.
yes, we think we will try not to have near as much fun as we did last time. how’s that sound?
we got some books on tape. a promising one is dave barry doing his version of american history. "dave barry slept here" sounds light and like if i miss a bit i’ll survive the plot loss.
maybe we look in other libraries for similar. Also, do you have someone going with you who will be there when you wake up and can hold your hand before the surgery and after? I think that is what we would want the most.
yes, we have the m’thr, but she is unpredictable. plus who knows what issues she might have to be there or that i am there. but funny, we remember that the place where our caseworker and pdoc are stationed is right accross street. tehy said we could call them if we needed. and the note they gave us, yup. We will be reaching out and extending our hand to you as well (of course, that is metaphorically, cause my arm and yours couldn’t reach from Chicago to RI!)
probably not even if you were just in massachusetts.
Sending healing energies your way, my special friends! michelle & the rest

hihi C!!
personaly would take music of some kind. we take our minidisc plyr most places, for sevral resons, that i like to have music on, n that frankii finds it helps her anxiety when shes out. tho we kinda figured it wasnt always the music that helped her, cos when the baterys ran out, n it was still on, it meant ppl didnt talk to her n ask her questons, or try to sell stuff etc, cos they didnt think shed hear lol.
/me laughs an thinks that not so bad an idea. kinda like armor or invisibility cloak, or just sticking fingers in ears and yelling "i’m not listening! i’m not listening!!" <giggles so maybe just wear it without the music if the music will make it worse ;p
u r wise.
i would say its probly bout pickin the right kinda music y’know, not somethin thats gonna remind ya of somthin or get ya in a weird mood, somthin upbeat?
yeah, we are lookin at what we have around. ost of our music is emotive. that’s kinda why we forget that music exists when we are not in feelin. we can forget for months. and we love music so much. used to sing. (still have shower performances.) funny that. anyway, we tend not to buy music that doesn’t move us, cuz we can only buy so much. even notes might cause emotion. but we are thinking that the pop stations come in best, so maybe we could try radio soft in there to drown out the major noise. as i think about it, any use of our body name (either of the two) is like to make us jump. and the ppl are gonna be all t’uchin us anyway.
:P gee, why am i so not excited about this?
thanks for the tip C, and thank frankii for being ingenious.

[big hug] i thought this trip would help your arm be more useful. isn’t that so? yup. we kinda miswrote. hopefully we corrected that mess up. this should make it so they take the metal and stuff out that kept us from healing so now we can heal.
that was kinda what i thought. it will be good to get it healing properly. i hope it works so you can get over this part of your trauma with it. it’s been a really rough row to hoe for you. other stuff thats happened too. if you want to talk, give me a ring or let me know when your on. k? k. much thanks. we are betting that before we are all healed up you will be getting a ring.
we are sure ready to be done with this. very ready.
ready and waiting. pay no attention to message on machine. i haven’t fixed it yet. if machine is on at all. yeah!! this time stay on the road and no side tracks!!! [gentle tease] wish i could go this time but i am not living in NEng. anymore. *sigh* i’ll never be able to come up with the air fare the way i’m going. i feel your sigh, and who am i to complain? but we can dream about a return to NE someday. even for a visit. too bad you can’t get travel miles from how many times you have to travel for docs and stuff now that you are too far from everything. yeah, i know you know how i feel. i love NE. i hope to move back there someday. i blew off my appointments today at the va. so tired of the long drive to get there and little sleep last nite. lots of rain too so it would take four hours instead of three. so bad linda said "f— it!" was bl**d test and mental health intake. i’ll get the b. test done at a smaller clinic closer and not care about the other. except for meds. i’ll maybe send a treat for you all or something. you can tell me all about it later.
wish i could cell call you from there, but it’s .65 a min there, not like from home. maybe call cards. they are d’ad useful. maybe we can do reverse care package. send you a trout covered in dark almond brickle.

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – need a help on this one, if u gots. we are gettin twitchy about arm surgery coming up. we get all freaky when we go for test and that was just the building. and we need to ask ppl to keep repeating words and stuff. could not make brain click. we get all spacey and…. just remembering make us get that way. we wonder, we need things maybe keep us feel ok. is only day surgery, but the places scare us so. you got any person to bring? safe person waiting for you to wake up? well…. we got the m’m, but we have no clue about her stayin or nothin. she be pretty good tho. some can really h’g her n stuff. she might not stay tho, who knows with her. she can be bang on amazing woman or otherwise. we are hoping for wunderm’m to be there that day. <g
hope so. got a magic powder to turn her into wundermum? we think maybe stuffy something to wear under gown! they won’t let you wear anything under gown until you’re awake enough to put it on yourself. they will let you have stuffy after you get done with "recovery room" part. sounds like voice of experience.
we are so afraid to lose a stuffy in the place, but so want one. no guarantees in life tho, eh?
don’t think anyone would steal a stuffy, tho. silly them, they don’t know real value when they see it. books earplugs or music? music might be a good idea. calming music. yodeling elk of the bayou? <g

really then in brain we hear, "it is a big deal!! we are not going to have the arm again!!!" the docs didn’t tell you that, did they? oh, egads, we meant use for a while. boy did we mess with ppl. we feel so embarrassed about that. ugh. dangling modifiers: the "again" is "like before" not "ever again" *thankfully*. does make us take stock of our lucky stars. ok. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – ugh, much ugh. we get veryveryvery bad ptsd hypervigilance in h places. scream a lot (sometimes like a yip, but sometimes a whole scream.) don’t mean to sososoo much. if could not, would not, cuz it makes things worse an ppl look an we *not* want that. we got a note from doc to tell them this, he know we not want things like that to happen, and also note says that they need to make sure we get our meds for anxiety. what else? meds for anxiety would help, yes. what else you think will help. person? yeah?

we can diss meds pretty well. i mean, not everything we’re gonna get in anecantspellitstesia, but outside of being knocked out we can well sustain anxiety.
(all our grounding stuff is failing us a bit here, which makes us think that we need to make some extra effort in that area. ugh, effort.:P) i spoke to a nurse about it on the phone, though, and she said to take our meds and check in with the nurses and anecantspellitstesiologist and they would try to help. yeah?

it’s funny. as we work through this, learn more, and hash this out here it does become simpler all aroud. the unreasonable fear thing is still big and enough to make me shake and quake, but the frantic circling is slowing down and we seem to have more direction and information to fight with. it feels like firmer ground, not as much earth falling out from under us free-fall. and i have to understand that there are some hospital ptsd issues from last time, and from psych hosps to deal with, and stuff with restraint, and also remembering that part of this might be connected to how there had been a su/si self-sabotage (ss?) plan for messing up the operation. (we had forgotten this, but it popped up when we did a little internal digging.) kinda like, "hi, there are issues here you know!" so we learned some stuff. and happy belated b-day to you and C. what a beautiful little family you have. we are glad in that as a thing we have seen in our lifetime. thanks and yeah

hi embies, hihi linda. did we do the fake spammers out thing right? we tried to do yours from memory cuz it was posted w/o it. wow, you noticed and remembered!! not so "muddy" or "pea soupy" as you thought…eh?
yes, we did a brilliant rendition of shakespeare’s "your email munge" by heart. we are well proud. <g i like what the others said. don’t take your powerbook. not even my d’d’s ipod.
yeah, that either! ;)
like we’d ever get to touch the thing, unless he is having tech difficulties. then it is "helphelphelp!" omgoodness! i am turning into chris!!! <g things have a way of "disappearing" in places like hospitals. ya. we afraid of that with stuffy, not that someone would want them for same reason. i think stuffies are pretty safe. mostly would be maybe mislaid or something with linens and such. can you put a "bracelet" on them too like you will get so they know who they belong too?
that is the bestest idea!!!! we and our stuffies can both have bracelets. maybe that will help the kids to see that there is stuff around the stuffies wrists too. (we have wrist issues – just thinking aboutit – shiver
) sometimes we wish ppl could see the kids so that they could get the explaination of what was to happen in kid terms. we’re not connected enough to translate well. they took my jewelery and watch away and put it in a safe till i was discharged. i don;t think they took any of my stuff last time. no, actually, all credit cards and money and stuff was just in my room. crazy. last time tho we did not get to really choose what we brought.
oh that was lucky you still had them later. i understand about not getting to choose. btdt
we bet! we’re sorry about your jewelry though. that’s rotten.
i mean, you’re already sick and in the hosp, like you need to be robbed too!? not hardly. stuffies is good and music is good. a good book that keeps you engrossed. would they let you watch video’s ?(fun ones) we have no idea what we are getting selves into. we gotta figure out what is going to happen, but last time we went in the place our brain had mud in it. (ok, dissociation, but might as well have been.
if it’s for a day it should pass pretty quickly, me thinks. [big hug]
/me wraps hug round self. {{{thanks}}} we called and talked to nurse and she say about how it is to be and there are goods and bads to how it be. the ppl can watch you 100% of time which is scary but also we not get lost or not be able to get help like last time so is good. they just don’t have the option we want: surgery by m’gic wand.
i thought this trip would help your arm be more useful. isn’t that so? yup. we kinda miswrote. hopefully we corrected that mess up. this should make it so they take the metal and stuff out that kept us from healing so now we can heal. that was kinda what i thought. it will be good to get it healing properly.

we never fixed ours either. our robot voice answers, but it is better than ppl think that a girl live in house by herself. if machine is on at all. ugh. i met the bestest w’lmart person when i was doing the big dig. we actually called up and waited on hold to publically acknowledge her. if not for her, we would have been so lost. it was a big deal. we ran into dummies too, but more good ppl this time, thankfully. hope you can be healed in time for the trip to Ca. and meeting old friends. we can hope. sure missed it right well last time, eh?

gentle embies
) hihi gain phoenix. <grinz i have been foggy lately, why do you need another operation for your arm? yeah.
but on the
side, this one is supposed to work. oh it is repair work then, that sound good, it will make things better for you.
yes, we will be embies and all her *working* 2000 parts. (ok, mostly working, ever aging.
[snip] dunno what it’s gonna be like at all. so many different ways to be in the hosp. 3 days away. <twitch when will you get in??
they’re doing arm hardware removal (with ‘lectric screwdrivers and everything!) on thurs morn, so far as we know. and we know more now than we did before.
no more badly bionic us. now young lady, you might have to show me the way also with your courage because lately i am pushing away my own operation and i am avoiding my doctor as if he have the pest because i know he will talk me to go there and i don’t want to anymore ahahahaha, you didn’t expected that isn’t it?? i was starting to wonder. what is best, i don’t know. but you had better aim for the best for you. u know u r important that u r. yupyup. we be tellin you that. i think what is best now is for me to rest and feel and think.
k. i can’t take any stand to contradict that.
i still can go in winter later, i can take my time of course the doctor would want me to go quickly
and he’d be wrong because? but the only consequences are me being in pains
that sounds no fun.
but i am more careful now, i
that sounds no fun.
have learned what i can do, i have change habits, and i have considerably limited the pains. i am not taking risks, i am respecting a few rules and they aren’t heavy, just i am refusing to do some stuff or doing others in other ways to be sure to not get stuck and badly hurting, it is functioning quite well, i am still with pains but i tolerate them better
i got lost when you were considering going back to work, as they were hounding you and all. did you end up doing that at all? sorry, we can’t remember now. and even my mood now seems to be stabilized about this.
well, that’s definately a plus. care to light the pathway?<g (gee, i can’t have sugar, what can i get then??) oh, we find something. or maybe not food. we do a movie or something. quality time with the geese? <g great, ok for a movie
now i do have to consider to travel for sure
we got a couch that makes a bed now! we have an extra bedroom too, the one with closets in it, but it seems that a mouse has made his/her home there. we will have to find hir tomorrow or we will likely have too much time pass before we can get to hir again. some ratter my dog turned out to be. didn’t notice mousie sneak into the kitchen, and then barely lifted her head when mousie went back. things to consider when traveling in new england: if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute. high temps this week are as follows: 70, 56, 72, 56, 60. they look like high and lows, but they are different days in sequence. i think the seasons are multiple and they rapid switch. other things to consider: at least it’s not winter. — Oilo hau kokorarazka ari da bainan ez du erruten u still gots to tell us what that say. it is a secret
u mean we gots 2 make sumthinn up? ok, we try. we think the last part is maybe something about "it is" but perhaps ez is the form of "to be". we are bad with laguages. so, first guess: your kimono is covered in bananas, yes it is. second guess: oh, how kindergarteners were the bain of my existance, when i was a crayon in my past life. oh, someone translated this: "per modo in linguis exanimis dicitur veritam non facit." Literally, "just because it is being said in a dead language does not make it the truth." thought it was funny. yes, it is, but it is not a dead language it is in basque, a full language
oh, we know it not likely a dead language (tho we can’t claim to know it for sure) but we thught you would appreciate.
peas n good thots, embies lots of good thoughts to you also embies i just had an idea, maybe you could bring the ferret with you and hide it there??
oh, no, not yoshi. she nips, unfortunately. once a friend of mine had to spend a couple of days at the hospital and i didn’t wanted to go back home and she hided me for that time, it was great fun
giggle. we brough a rabbit to a psych hospital once and hid it in our coat pocket, but we think you would not fit in our coat pocket, so maybe our ferret yoshi looks like a better bet. besides, they got all sorts of annoyed with us at the psychh hospital, and we really want the ppl at this hospital to do us a favor and let us keep the hardware that was in our arm so we will try to not tick them off with live stuffies.
be well
