Spring fever

Question:

Hi Patricia! As my therapist only treats folks with stress disorders, I think that I can state fairly safely that SAD associated with PTSD must be rather common. :/ Smile and there will be something to smile about! Hi Nancy, As you probably know I was a bit "distracted" yesterday but I just wanted to say thanks for responding to my question. : ) There certainly are alot of "complications" that can be related to ptsd but on the other hand I am learning and understanding myeslf so much better within the last few months… that has to be a positive thing- at least that is how I am trying to look at it. Thanks again and I hope your are doing well… I wish you the best. : ) Patricia. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -ki…@cris.com wrote: > Hi Patricia! > As my therapist only treats folks with stress disorders, I think that I can > state fairly safely that SAD associated with PTSD must be rather common. :/ > Smile and there will be something to smile about! > Nancy > > Hi Nancy, > > Thanks for the feedback. : ) > > I will definately look into info. on the web. Hi guys, I am feeling down. Living with Quebec winter is taking its tole on me. We just got more snow a few days ago and we still have so much the banks are still a problem trying to see well when turning a corner with the car. I get spring fever every year now that I have been living here followed by depression. I really don’t want to get depressed and I fight it every year at this time… but fail. Does anyone have any suggestions? The snow isn’t going to go away and there won’t be nice weather for at least another month, month and a half. I am starting to feel the depression fight its way into me… I feel down and I really want to succeed in fighting it off this year. I just don’t know how… : ( Take care all and I hope your weather is better than mine, Patricia. ___________________________________________________________________________ ___ Total Internet privacy — get your Freedom pseudonym at http://www.freedom.net

Patricia, By now you all must know that I have a strange sense of humor, I did before I got sick too, so I cant blame it on that ^ _^. My Mom is paralyzed from the neck down, and she gets depressed even much more than me, so we both try really hard to think of fun ways to amuse each other when we are having a "good" day. When it was cold and snowy here, we have a fireplace, and we had some of those self lighting logs, and I lit the fire, and then we got out this probably antique thing that I dont know the real name for, anyway,  it is a covered pot on a long stick, that you stick in the fire and pop popcorn with. I put some oil in and some popcorn, and the lid didnt fit just right, and I stuck it in the fire, and when the popcorn started to pop, it just started flying everywhere! We laughed till we peed our pants!!!!! It was one of the funniest things we have ever done. I burned all the popcorn though. If you like the high flying adventure of Mother and I, this is a trick to beat the winter blues. Love and  a Big Modem Hug, and a Whisper into the little Robins ear outside my bedroom window to go and visit Patricia way up in Quebec,   (I’m in Kentucky, US) Claudia

This sounds like SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).  There must be some web information, somewhere.  One of the effective self-help things you can do is use a light box, light room, for an hour or more each day. My therapist warned us in group about the possibility of this happening. :/ Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Patrica, what I do for spring fever is:  I get together with my friends that know I have depression we go out for coffee then we go shopping, sometimes we stop at the game room in the mall.  It is kinda funny having all the teenagers looking at you like you are a big kid.  But hey it also helps when you are having an rage day.  I take it out on the pinball machine.  But if I can’t do that I write my feelings down about how I’m feeling at the moment.  I also walk, the faster I walk the faster it goes away.  I also have a kids punching bag, and somedays it really take a beating. Hope you feel better. Carla * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find related Web Pages, Images, Audios, Videos, News, and Shopping.  Smart is Beautiful
