Question:
I am new to news groups and glad I found this one. I am suprised to read that many have found some relief with various medications. I was prescribed prozac a few years ago with very negative results, since then I have been reluctant to try anything. My ptsd is from childhood abuse and I have suffered with it for many years. Some of you seem to have found serzone and other meds helpful, please send me information and your stories. I will be most appreciative. mare ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

Nope, but Paxil worked on my anxiety quite expertly though the depression has remained and perhaps worsened. Motivation a problem too. Tried to get off the Paxil with disastrous physical and emotional withdrawal problems. No side effects until I tried to get off. :-^ P. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> James > "Try, there is no try. I took Prozac for two years (just recently stopped) and had great results. It was hard at first…P kept making me yawn alot and get sleepy alot. I took it in the morning. It was hard to sleep at night so then I started taking Trazadone at night. Slept like a baby on Trazadone, however, getting off T was pretty lousy…jitters, and nausea — don’t believe them if they tell you it’s not addictive. I was up to 80mg of Prozac at some times, but mostly took 60mg daily before tapering off. It took about 5 weeks for it to take affect, and the first few weeks I felt really weird. It really helped cut down on flashbacks, and some days it made me feel so happy that I almost felt too happy. I would probably still be on P, except I grew weary of the side affects…dry mouth, difficult sleep, etc. I have no switched to melatonin for sleep. So ask me why I am up at this hour? I don’t know. I am thinking of trying Wellbutrin. I hear that it has hardly any side affects. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -ma…@att.net wrote in message <76k5hs$s2…@nnrp1.dejanews.com>… >I am new to news groups and glad I found this one. Hi Mare Welcome aboard…I’ve been taking prozac for the last 6 months, I have had no negative results but it didn;t seem to be doin much for the depression, my motivation has been on zip for most of the time. I just switched to Zoloft but I’ll have to report back in a few weeks. Is anyone else on Zoloft……any news? James "Try, there is no try.
