Hi there, sorry it took so long to answer your post. I am Steve by the way, and i am a male abuse/rape survivor. I usuall post in ASAR, as Starman, via a ttwels account, but the spam on there is getting worse at the moment. I know what you mean about the uk been lacking in ptsd help. i was lucky, after going through 4 councilers i ended up with one who teaches cpn’s about ptsd. it was amasing what a differecne he made to me as he knew how i felt. Don’t know what area you live in, but i am from hull. fell free to e-mail me. I’m a clin. psy. working in the British NHS (Manchester area).  You will have a GP who will have access to your nearest Department of Clinical Psychology.  All clinical psychologists are required to keep up to date, as are most other medical and related professionals, so all clinical psychologists should be able to offer you appropriate treatment or to refer you to another NHS worker who can. If you name the area in which you live, I will undertake to provide you with contact details of your nearest NHS Clinical psychology department, but referral will most likely be needed from your doctor.  As a British tax payer you are already paying for this service.
