Question:

Hey, does anybody know how long a post stays on the NG?  It seems like the disappear in 2-3 days.  For memory impaired folks like me, I have to keep chasing them down in the archives.  What’s up?

It all depends on your server.  Mine caries about 4500 lists.  Now if you’ve had a look at some of the big ones you’d see that this list is pretty small by comparison.  All of this storage takes disk space.  So to store it they have to have a cut off point.  If you can, lobby your server to keep this list longer, most servers have a list supervisor you can contact.  I can’t guarantee it’ll work though.

You could get ahold of Forte Free Agent.  It’s a newsreader, free for the downloading.  It allows you to download and keep posts on your harddrive. also, check the Preferences in your browser/newsreader.  You can set the length of time an article remains available.  Possibly your browser is set to eliminate articles too soon after you’ve read them. For some reason I only receive a few of the posts. Now either I have inadvertently kill-filed the list, or a big portion of it. Or, I am not logged on properly. I access the list through the news list alt.support.trauma-ptsd. Any suggestions? Since I have so few computer skills I’m probably the last one to give any advice, but I’ll try anyway.  Could you maybe check to see if you’ve *kill-filed* inadvertently?  It’s under Tools, I think, and then you go to *Message Rules* and that takes you to the *Blocked Senders List*.  I would think if you’ve kill-filed that’s where you could undo it. msmercury "solentgrn" <solentgr…@netscape.net> wrote in message
