PMS: just how obnoxious is too obnoxious?

Question:

PMS…I don’t think so….it can be a real drag sometimes, but I really don’t think you can blame PMS here…obviously there is a problem and I think you and your wife need to sit down and discuss it before period time arrives again next month! Daisy "Jim" <jim_did…@yahoo.com> wrote in message

Actually, you may be happy to hear that according to my lastest copy of Men’s Health Network News, we, too, may have an opportunity to achieve equality in the "hormonal excuse" department. You say you think she exploded for no reason. Did she give you a reason at the time other than PMS?

I never took it seriously until i read about this stuff. You learn something new everyday… and, now that I look back, maybe *that’s* why ex-girlfriend #39 threw the heavy glass thingee at me. JWB

Did she say it was PMS? * When I first got my period (about 10) it was real bad I was out of school the entire week. I would get horible back craps and the such which led to outbursts. As I got older it got better, but sometimes it’s bad, a few weeks ago I woke up and was angry at the world. Is she like this every month, if not, she might be pregnant again ( some women still have their periods, even if in previous pregnancies they did not)that might explain the outburst. * * "Jim" <jim_did…@yahoo.com> wrote in message

Response:

Its difficult to know without knowing what the reason was.  What you think is nothing, might be something really awful to her. Also, dont blame PMS on your wife getting mad.  Sometimes we women just get blazing mad at stuff, like guys.  But because society has lampooned PMS for so long, any change in mood is blamed on PMS. Life isnt perfect and if your wife is basically good natured, she is entitled to get crazy angry sometimes, especially if she usually bottles up her feelings.  I would suggest you explain to her how you felt about her outburst and then put it behind you.  Hanging onto to nonsense will only hurt you both. Oh I am fucking evil around that time too..not as verbally abusive as your wife, but I could rip out hearts quite easyily and if there is a full moon at the same time, I could kill a few.  It sounds like there is more on the menu than PMS…esp if it’s guided directly at you. This is "ABUSE", PMS or not. I’ll bet she would not behave this way toward her friends, had they visited yesterday. Are you kidding?  Women are entitled to be as obnoxious and abusive as they please.  PMS is the universal pretext, available to her at any time of the month.  Men’s duty is to endure women’s bad behavior without complaint. — Fascism:  Concentrated private control of wealth, control of information, massive investment/manufacture of arms and military equipment, suppression of labor movements…sound familiar?

Depends. How much can you tolerate? Maybe getting her to a doc to see if she can get some help for it would be good, because it shouldn’t be that bad that she has to take it out on you or the kids.     I’ve had 3 wives, and PMS with them was mostly the frustration coming out from other things going on and PMS was only a good excuse to blow a fuse. Of course, beiing a vet with PTS tends to put a damper on that real quick. so, the reality is for you to figure out what else is going on. The kid is only a year old. What have you done to help her out with the kids? or have you been simply going to work, brininging a check, then flopping down in front of teh tube with a game and a beer and waiting for dinner?
