Uhm, thanks I think – I’m a real nut case but cognitive impairment is not on the list. Squiggles :-)

Response:

Gees, according to this I have every personality disorder in the book lol!

Sheesh. You were supposed to answer honestly. ;-) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Fun, but not to be used for diagnosis…. http://4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv

Response:

I dunno… this is pretty close to one of the standardized inventories, right down to the repeated questions… it only lacks the ‘very much-very little’ scoring. I scored *very high" in quite a few categories… but I already knew I was crazy.

It is close to the standardized inventories, but it lacks depth, as in the MMPI. Moreover, it takes some skill to properly assess the scores, as there are numerous clusters and trait-dependent scale correlations to consider, as well. Moreover, the MMPI has embedded questions which are designed to assess the deceptiveness of the respondent’s replies. Psychometry is a whole branch of psychology, and my courses in that field were fascinating (to me). If taken with an open mind, this self-test might well open the door to insightful realizations, based on further study of the personality traits highlighted by higher scores. I know I’m crazy too, but I scored low on every scale. Your brain may vary. Larry

the last time i took the mmpi, i scored so ‘high’ on some categories that they did accuse me of lying. i was kinda pissed about that. later they settled on calling me schizoaffective. but its been suggested that that test isnt set up to identify ptsd either and that was what they were seeing in my results. anna Larry

Diana, Be careful with those tests, they along with the interpreter are subjective. Get a copy of the test result breakdown and go to the Medical library or bookstore and research, just exactly those scores mean.  There are always groupings or clusters and you don’t want to be included in just any old diagnosis this particular interpreter is more comfortable, educated or experienced in.
