Oh great. [sp. icky gyne stuff]

Question:

hmmmm. if ur not sexually active… (depo is bad for smokers too… I oughta know… I smoke…… )…. can u try a diff method?  I hate to say diaphragm…. but at least you wouldn’t have the depression side effects — Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most!

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – -could you switch to the pill?  (I mean, will insurance cover -that)……I take the pill continuously, no placebos, to suppress my -period due to severe pelvic pain, etc.  I sometimes spot, and when I -do, I have to take a week off, but then it’s ok again. – -just a thought. Thanks, but I’m over 35 and a relatively heavy smoker.  Hoping I will be calm enough to attempt to quit after I move. -I sympathize….TOTALLY Thanks.  So far it looks like a false alarm.  I ought to have about six months before agony sets in if I don’t get a shot soon.  I can probably get the ex to pay for it once he catches up his expenses.  He _remembers_ what I am like with cramps.  <insert loud hissing noise here — chimera:  learned a lot, a lot to learn discretion may be the better part of valor but sometimes ya just gotta stomp somethin’. icq #101774213 (recently crashed, contact list wiped out, send auth.

and the pill tends to lead to less depression than depo — Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most!

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – The ex did _not_ put me on his health insurance and cannot change it for a year.   Medicare will not pay for Depo.  I don’t have 60 bucks for a vial of the stuff. could you switch to the pill?  (I mean, will insurance cover that)……I take the pill continuously, no placebos, to suppress my period due to severe pelvic pain, etc.  I sometimes spot, and when I do, I have to take a week off, but then it’s ok again. just a thought. I’m in complete sympathy with you there girl.  Where do you live?  USA?  I guess since you mentioned medicare.  Medicaid will do a spin down for surgery if that’s an option for you.  I had the same problem plus a cyst on my left ovary the size of my fist and having surgery was the best thing I ever did.    Are you aware that those shots cause depression?  Or make it worse?  I managed to make it through two from my gyno before my family doctor told me as I sit there weeping on his table, to never ever do that again.  Just a thought. Take it easy today, Lady Hawke

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – SPOILER:  I’m telling you, people, this is _seriously icky gyne stuff_!   Walk away now if you hate such things. * * * * * Welcome to too much stress.  You think my life could get worse?  Heh, I’m not fooled for a minute, it can _always get worse_. I have been overdue for a Depo-Provera shot since December.  This morning I am feeling the beginning of cramps.  What might be coming requires large tablets of naproxen sodium I do not have and a possible trip to the ER for excessive bleeding.  I have large uterine fibroids. I sure hope this isn’t starting up.  Not now.  Would explain the moodswings though. The ex did _not_ put me on his health insurance and cannot change it for a year.   Medicare will not pay for Depo.  I don’t have 60 bucks for a vial of the stuff. I swear if I live long enough I’m writing a book about my life.  If anyone would believe it. — chimera:  learned a lot, a lot to learn discretion may be the better part of valor but sometimes ya just gotta stomp somethin’. icq #101774213 (recently crashed, contact list wiped out, send auth.

I crashed and burned bad on depo…. I had to do something else…. anything else….. but not depo — Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most!

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – -Just a quick note….. the naproxen sodium is a good idea… it does -decrease the bleeding….. but… a quick note on depo provera….. it has -major depression and often SI as a side effect. Yup.  The doctor knew my depression and PTSD history when he put me on it.  He wanted my body to recover from the brief pregnancy before considering surgery, and he knew my life was exceedingly stressful. The doctor has since left practice, I miss him.  :(  I get the shots through my GP’s office until I can find a new surgeon. — chimera:  learned a lot, a lot to learn discretion may be the better part of valor but sometimes ya just gotta stomp somethin’. icq #101774213 (recently crashed, contact list wiped out, send auth.
