Not Just a darn balloon….

Question:

To the rest of the world it was just a darned balloon. To those in certain parts of the PTSD world, it was much more. Gary, don’t beat yourself up. If others don’t understand the response, you can be thankful for them that they don’t, and only because you do. Although you were embarassed, try to be thankful that your son, wife and others see it as only just a darned ballon. Maybe this will help? JP

Yup, and boy do I know it!  <sad smile> > Gary, don’t beat yourself up. If others don’t understand the response, > you can be thankful for them that they don’t, and only because you do.

Now there’s a novel approach.  I’ve never seen it like that.  I’ll mull that one over for a while but it makes a lot of sense. > Although you were embarassed, try to be thankful that your son, wife and > others see it as only just a darned ballon. Maybe this will help?

Thankfully, my wife and my son both reach out to me in great compassion and caring.  I can live with the reality that I will probably only be embarrassed for a short while and in most cases with people I don’t know and probably will never again see. Thanks Jim
