Question:
Hi, I just found this newsgroup this evening and have spent the last few hours reading the threads and trying to get a feel for the place. I should most probably lurked a while, but it was reassuring for me to see that some of what I feel and think is mirrored in your posts. I have PTSD, but for the most part, I can control the unexpected emotional and physical symptoms. What I’ve experienced in my life has turned me into a cautious person. Cautious with my contact with people, cautious in expressing myself, insular, suspicious, and always, always battling internally to remain calm. And with a stunning sense of self-abuse( I’m not sure I’m joking there), I made a horrendous marriage choice which I won’t go into because it would probably trigger a few people off. That’s me , in a nutshell. Ruth
Response:
Ruth, I am very much the same way. Thank you for posting : ) Julie
Response:
Ruth; Welcome to the group, and I hope you can find things that you can use to enhance your recovery. We have a great group of people here, with as varied backgrounds as can be found probably anywhere. I don’t suppose we are any substitute for professional therapy, but in a pinch, we can solve most any problems you may have
If you don’t believe it, just ask. Course, you may wish to remember that advice is usually worth exactly what you pay for it. Thanks for being here. J. David flmf…@tampabay.rr.com "RMG" <r…@gil.com.au> wrote in message
