nausea anxiety, ativan

Question:

I have been diagnosed 7 years ago with anxiety, major depression, PTSD and mild OCD. I am taking effexor right now 150mg for my depression which helps but it keeps me awake at night. I have been taking it for 2 weeks now. My doctor started me on ativan a few days ago. It helps a little but I have to take 1.5mg to get some relief. It also gives me a bad upset stomach where I can’t eat or eat very little. I am careful about not eating junk food and try to just eat regular meals but I cannot hold down food. I need to call my doctor tommorrow to get some sonoma to sleep. I am sleeping on a off 4 hours here and few hours there up all night. I really dispise this illness. Thanks for your suggestions about walking and switching meds. I have stopped taking kavakava since i think it is upsetting my stomach. I have a very sensitive stomach. -J

You sound a lot like me. I used Effexor XR November 2002 to October 2003, it was to treat my anxiety but I started to come down with depression.  Whenever I felt a anxiety attack I took Clonezapam .5 mg to help calm me down. I thought I was able to cure myself by going off the meds but as time had started to past I had to start taking passion flower to help ease me.  This probably started around February with the PF.  A few months gone by and I felt that PF stopped working and that I’ve grown immune to it.  I’m now taking 5htp to help me sleep.  I can fall asleep but cannot stay asleep. During the day I take Green Theanine to relax me, rescue remedy to help me faster.  This is starting to slow down and I need something stronger. I went for a psych eval and it turns out that I have a mild case of bi polar.  My psychiatrist suggested Lithium, no I don’t want to be on something hard core.  Any suggestions for bi polar meds and anxiety? I will be moving back to my hometown, pay off my shopping debts I’ve incurred since moving to Toronto, I want to see a psychiatrist, I want to go back onto meds. Every morning when I wake up I feel nausea, sleepy, and not wanting to leave my house.  Now I’ve been getting headaches. Help Me!
