You are absolutely correct about that. Some people in this thread have alleged that there will be a cover-up. However, the opposite may be true. According to the articles I read, the Marine general in charge called the death the worst thing that happened during his command in Iraq and there has been testimony that military determined that wrong-doing occurred prior to any investigation. Once the commanding officer has that in his head about someone, in most cases, the full brunt of the military justice system will fall on that person. These soldiers may be being set-up as scapegoats and if they are not punished, it will most likely be because the case against them is extremely weak. Let’s condemn them or call them murderers without knowing the facts because it fits a "the war in Iraq is wrong" mindset. They are no better then the men they killed. They played judge jury and executioner, they brutally killed another human being! I understand the primitive need to "revenge" however!
