Question:
Does anyone know of a way to create a more private chat? I need some input from some of the married women here, but I don’t feel comfortable posting about it co-ed. No offense guys – but somethings feel safer woman to woman : (
Response:
There is a site www.delphi.com that has PTSD chat. It is moderated and the majority of participants are female. There are other forums in Delphi that are quite good and you can read messages others have left to get a feel for the site. You’ll see posts from me there =) good luck and hope you find a safe place…Kristine The unexamined life is not worth living – Socrates

IRC is a part of the internet that is separate from Usenet or the WWWeb. You can use IRC clients (software) to do real time chatting with others. you can make your own channels and password protect them or make them invisible etc. Some are safer than others. (servers) A friend of mine runs asarian-host.org/net and he makes his server as safe as it can be for survivors of abuse etc. He gave some space to another friend of mine for creating his own irc server and gave him a dameon (sp) to use for it. (to run it) I guess that is what they do. duh…;-) Anyway, it’s a good place to chat if you want to without a lot of other traffic. it’s not on any of the usual networks like efnet or dalnet. it’s on it’s own. So anyway, if anyone want’s to chat more privately, that is a good option. It’s helped me when I wanted to help someone in crisis but couldn’t afford the long distance charges. If you go to this site… www.asdonline.org You will see some directions on how to set up irc clients for PC’s, Macs and others. Not sure about AOL but they must let you do it somehow. I helped John with the screenshots and instructions. The part for ircle (macintosh) is mine. it got cut off but you can still see the settings and all. John did a good job for mirc which is the client PC users use. Hope it helps. linda linda2c on irc 2creus on usenet. — All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by frost. — Bilbo Baggins, Hobbit, Adventurer
