Question:
David, Hi… sorry to hear about your condition – my sympathies. My accident wasn’t my fault either – but for some reason I blamed myself for it and really beat myself up. Then some other bad things happened (job loss, was a passenger in a subsequent accident) and my life fell apart. Just trying to get by day to day now. Post more if you like. mike – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -"david" <d…@g11282.fsnet.co.uk> wrote in message <news:c1g3el$ku3$1@newsg2.svr.pol.co.uk>… > Hi, > David, 39 , from UK. Welcome, Dave. I’m sorry you fit in here, but this is a great group with real people. I can understand your responses to stress over the years. I frequently did extensive workouts to try and cope or just silence the anger. I still do them occasionally because exercise *is* a good coping method, as long as I don’t overdo it. Take care, -Clawe

Hi David! First, welcome to our little corner of usenet. Several hundred years ago, chances are that we would not have had to deal with this. Wit or without the gasoline engine, we would not have lived long enough to reach middle age. :/ Ain’t progess great! :/ > Am at toughest stage of my life, and 22 yrs down the line. This is the kind of stuff that I prefer to talk over with my therapist. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

I am a great believer that just because we now extend life to 70+, does not mean that the last 30% is still great fun, in fact , a lot of people I have noticed, have suffered greatly through ‘old age’, let alone having PTSD. Dave "Nancy" <kipc…@msn.com> wrote in message

Hi David! Welcome! Sorry about your accident. We’re left with the residual ptsd to deal with. It effects each of us in our own way, some of us have similar symptoms, others different, and they take their toll at times, mentally as well as physically. My accidents weren’t my fault either, nor were the other traumas I’ve survived. I’m just now grieving some of the losses emotionally, as well as starting to feel anger. That’s something I’m going to have to get more in touch with and learn to express properly. Now I only know to grit my teeth and bear up under stress until I collapse or explode. Not good! I’m little by little learning to be better to myself overall and it helps : ) Again, welcome David. Z55 "david" <d…@g11282.fsnet.co.uk> wrote in message

Hi, David, 39 , from UK. Had major motorcycle accident in 1982. Took me 20 yrs to realise how much I am suffering from PTSD, just noted a message that mentioned about realising how her body actually is no that good at dealing with stress + symptoms of PTSD. I could not agree more, this has really hit home with me recently. I use to ‘live’ off the post trauma stress hormones, endless hours in gym, drugs, stimulants, now at middle age I understand that my body can no longer take any more. Am at toughest stage of my life, and 22 yrs down the line. The accident was not my fault, not sure how this has effected me either regards Dave
