I accept that it was my choice. > If you don’t have any interest in > alternative thought patterns, so be it.
The thread was intended to be a description of my experience. I was told that I was liar. I was told that my experience was impossible. I was told that my experience was irrelevant to the other members of this group. If you wish to characterize that as "alternative thought patterns", I feel sorry for you, and for anyone in your life. Good-bye.

Hello? I must have missed some posts or am confused about the subject thread. Who called you a liar? Who said your experience was impossible? Irrevelent? Shannon
Response:
Larry, I am sorry you are feeling so awful.:-( You sound like you are hurting. It is true about us going through periods of distorted thinking isn’t it.? It find it hard work to keep myself aware of myself sometimes. There is support here for you Larry. Helski

I saw some of what Larry is talking about, now that I realize what he is talking about. I’m sorry Larry, for what it is worth, that your experience was doubted, challenged and dismissed as impossible. Nobody here would like to hear that about ANY issue in their trauma, healing or stages of PTSD. My $.02 worth and not directed at anyone as an attack…just a realization and an "AHA" about what Larry said. Kristine

….that I’ve triggered people again. I don’t know what’s right to do, I guess. Larry Larry don’t be too worried. If you think of it place Trigger warning at the top of the story. helski
Response:
Um, I haven’t been triggered so I won’t begin to presume to speak for anyone okay? I have read the last couple days of posts and I wonder where Larry’s feeling of badness that he’s triggered anyone here? I don’t see it, but it is legit of course if someone was triggered. I know that when I come here I may be triggered. Just like a group I belong to. I didn’t read it for awhile because it was too much. I don’t mean to be rude, but what is going on here? I didn’t read a post of anyone getting upset…I did read a couple of posts of pain and trigger…I don’t think its an epidemic Larry. Maybe, if I may be so bold, we can put a trigger warning at the top or in the line – and a bit of word about what the trigger may be? Just a suggestion now that things are smoothed down and we are a community with people that have been here for a long time and all. ::::::::trying to help and reassure:::::::::::: Kristine

Larry, >….that I’ve triggered people again.
Did I miss something major? Sounds like you’re feeling down on yourself. What’s going on? Risa You should never say anything to a woman to even remotely suggest you think she’s pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

You mentioned being triggered. I don’t like the idea of triggering anyone.

Helski mentioned triggering. Shannon got triggered by our discussion. Now Cathy is triggered. I don’t want to think that I’m pushing too hard. Honesty is necessary, but how much honesty? After getting reamed up the ass for daring to post about Rhoidola, I’m a little bit hesitant to say anything at all. Larry

Cathy is triggered. I don’t want to think that I’m pushing too hard. Honesty is necessary, but how much honesty? Larry, You might be doing it tough at the moment even though you have made some major breakthroughs. I do not think you are pushing too hard!! My intention is not to make you feel any worse. Quite the opposite. When I read your posts the other night I was on my way to bed.As I mentioned your story are what my nightmares are made of for a number of reasons which I won’t go into here. Now before anybody else jumps in and says I don’t have to read the posts I would like to say that sometimes it is too late if there is NO trigger warning. This subject has come up many times over the years I know. I am pretty sure it is dealt with in the FAQ.:-) I hope I am not projecting b/c I have been nightmaring solidly for a few months now the subjects being very much your scenario. Just the Trigger heading would be helpful is all Larry. Please do not feel restrained by this request.:-) Helski

I’m getting triggered by everyday life not from this ng. I think my vents reflect that.
Response:
Hi Larry! > You mentioned being triggered. I don’t like the idea of triggering anyone.
Actually, nobody wants to trigger anyone on this ng. The whole problem of authoring triggers is based upon our wanting to control what happens around us. From my perspective, it is absolutely impossible to predict and prevent any difficult associations each and every one of us may have with an individual post. I, personally, don’t believe that you were reamed for any posts earlier. There may have been some objections and even a snide comment or two, but generally, opinions of RR were better received than the flame wars we had several months ago. Now those … they were nasty. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Is that belief relevant to my feeling? Just as others mention being triggered, I’m telling you how I felt. I come here for support and understanding. I don’t expect to be challenged about my true experiences. My reality ought not to be the subject of debate, but I was confronted on that basis. Larry

It is worth a lot to me. Thanks. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

I am sorry that you chose to feel that way. > I come > here for support and understanding. I don’t expect to be challenged about my > true experiences. My reality ought not to be the subject of debate, but I > was confronted on that basis.
I am not really big on ’shoulds’ and ‘oughts’. Sorry, but … what I choose to _not do_ is enable others’ distorted thinking when I believe I see it. If my perceptions over the years are wrong, then so be it … I have done my best to be helpful and to show alternative ways to view the same subject /topic etc. FWIW, distorted thinking is a hallmark of PTSD. We with PTSD all have it. Part of recovery is to discover where our thinking became distorted and go back to heal in our minds. Otherwise, we tend to repeat the same patterns, over and over. > Is that belief relevant to my feeling?
It may be relevant or even interesting for you to know what others on the ng felt during the same situation. If you don’t have any interest in alternative thought patterns, so be it. YMMV Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy
