Question:
Hey BroVet – Glad to see you’re back, and good to hear it was a positive experience for you. Look forward to hearing more, whenever it fits. Best, Hannah
Response:
Where to start? Hmm, well, I just got back from Menlo a couple of days ago and still haven’t had time to process all I was exposed to, oh the behavior mod stuff sitll kicks in as a conditioned response (did I just hear a bell, must be time to engage in ‘active listening’:-), but my impressions about the program are still forming so those will have to wait until a different posting. The flat-out best part about the whole two months I was away was meeting other Vets with PTSD, for years I avoided m’brothers because I thought they’d be a ‘trigger’ for me but just the opposite was true. I really felt comforted by them and was continuely amazed by all the similarites we shared, in that way it kinda reminded me of this group. There were plenty of other areas you may find interesting too, but they’ll have to wait until I resume normal breathing. It’s good to be back.:-) BroVet

Hey Bro Vet, It’s so good to see you back, this group "needed" some good news right about now and what better news than to have Rex the Wonder Dog back "home." Really missed you, and glad to hear that on the whole it appears to have been a positive experience for you. Making new friends and all. It’s just so good to have you back, you know what I mean, not good that you have the ptsd, but so great to "hear from an old friend" again. Welcome back Bro Vet, been missing you. I almost talked myself into going back to Menlo myself for awhile (maybe should have). I’ve found the same to be true for me when it comes to Nam vets (as long as they are being honest and not making up stories). They’re a safer bunch to be with than the general public. Usually we can sense each others moods or reaction and back away from subject before it "triggers" something. Damn glad you made it back safe. Larry L.

Welcome back. Helski

Hiya Bro….I’m so glad you got to connect with your buddies. Especially since you found comfort rather than the dreaded triggers. God bless ya and glad to have ya back.
