Question:

I have a friend who is conducting research in the area of trauma and she needs participants who would be willing to complete a questionnaire which should take about 20 minutes.  It asks questions about how you cope when things are upsetting you and more detailed questions about specific trauma you have experienced. I became a C5/6 tetraplegic in October 1999 so I’ve filled it in. Its not that onerous. The Questionaire can be emailed in Word format and you can complete when ever its convenient for you. She really needs at least 60 Questionaires especially from men (but don’t let that put you off if you’re female). Please contact either her F.H.Ball…@sms.ed.ac.uk or myself s…@dcs.ed.ac.uk for any more information Thanks very much Struan

I am going to sound horrible but when I read your post I thought at least you have a physical injury that people can see. Perhaps your friend would be better to ask for research assistance with those that have physical trauma’s. My trauma you cannot see. People don’t realise how much I struggle just to get up in the morning and say "good morning", people judge you by what you say and do but PTSD is ruling your everyday life, thoughts, emotions and relationships. Sometimes those people are also your employer or work colleagues. I try to contain my frustrations, the retorts or the irritations as they try workplace bullying/intimidation tactics on me. To them you are a threat to their own security and have been bullying for years to other colleagues without fear of retribution. Because of PTSD I am aware of my triggers. I walk away from their little digs and ignore them but of course that inflames the situation. You are seen as weak therefore a good ’safe’ target. "struankl" <strua…@onetel.net.uk> wrote in message
