Hi naomi, Did you get "sick" when you quit? (I failed miserably so figure I’ll try again next week.) I was really surprised by how ill I felt. Did you have support when you quit? And what kinds of things felt supportive?
I quit 5 years ago and have not wanted a cigarette since. I had tried many times to quit but always had cravings until the final time. I think I always restarted because I felt so guilty bumming cigs off other people that I would buy "just one more pack". The last time, I bought a pack and put on top of the fridge. I told myself that if I really, really needed one, could not live without one, was at the point of digging through the garbage for a butt, then I would open the pack on top of the fridge. I think knowing that "security" blanket was up there made it so much easier. I had a few mild cravings. A year later I threw out some powdery green dust that had been the cigs. I wonder if $70/cartoon would deter teens from picking up the habit? Good luck to all trying to stop. Shar

in some places you can find an MD practioner who knows about using accupuncture points in the nose … a couple of novacain shots and all that stuff for a whole month is medicated to take the sting off it … the people who I have known who did this type of accupuncture still to this day are off cigs. but thats the world of fruit and nuts California talking here.

Sure … cigs are the hardest drug to give up … its white mans medicine … chemists making the best crank money can buy. more addictive then Heroin … I agree Alan. I had to have a heart attack to quit smoking. But I remember the lady in the next bed asking to go out and smoke after her heart attack. They gave her the patch. I just quit, but I think I did it because I was already hating smoking and the heart attack was a Goddess thing!
My MIL had bypass surgery, twice, and two bouts of cancer. She *still* couldn’t give the damn things up! I wonder if they can cause leukemia? Dragon

Thanks, Alan. I printed this up and put it in my "quit pile". Ruby
u betcha sweetie … it will feel like crazymakin to detox and clean out the historical issues …. but it is really ‘uncrazymakin’ that will be happening. this is why they say in the fellowship "that which used to baffle you; you will magically come to understand". the unwinding of the tension from the PTSD which is the uncrazymakin stuff that we all have to go thru in our own different ways is tuff … but you are a survivior … huh ??? sumbuddie 1 deux

We have to subsidize health care somehow. Anyway, my goal is January 1st. My kids are getting me patches for christmas, I have been informed. i’m begging them for the heavy duty ones (21 mg). I recommend the patches, Ruby. They make ALL the difference in the world. I’ve heard some really amazing things about wellbutrin, too. So are you doing it? I’ve been meaning to ask you, too – what are matrices? Are they a math thing? jean | |

Sure … cigs are the hardest drug to give up … its white mans medicine … chemists making the best crank money can buy. more addictive then Heroin … also dont take it one day at a time – like work on one hour … when I got free of mood altering behaviours – I had to pray to my higher power to help me in the morning – I would hold up my end and not act out – and did so until I finally got to bed and closed the peepers… the next morning I had to do it again – did it that way for 9 months or so until I had made progress in my recovery so I did not need to do that anymore. besides – everybuddie smokes in hell … sumbuddie who cares
