Stephanie: I do believe that this is a relevant question. Please answer for those of use who want to know why you are on here? Why are you posting to teen penpal groups? This is not meant to be mean. I just want to find out where you are coming from and now you are getting mad at me? Lu
Response:

Please reprint for me with headers, the entire post were I said I had full blown PTSD "right now" at the moment. I think you mis read. LuanneP wrote: > >I’m not posting to teen pen pals. I have no idea what you’re talking about and even if I did, I wouldn’t be sharing with you the names addresses and birthdates of all the people who frequent this rail way station. It’s none of your dam business. It’s my business what I want to share with you and it’s up to me if I even care to respond to you at all. I don’t see this conversation going anywhere. I’d prefer you didn’t address me at all because It would make this group a more sane place for everyone. I’d like to enjoy some of the posts from others on this Ng and your taking up a disproportional amount of time baiting me where you could be gaining some much needed therapy for your own situation. Please just pretend I’m not here. There are enough people here already that both of us could have our respective needs met. . . – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> You say you have > teenagers? Why is it relevant? This is alt.support-trauma-ptsd. What has teen/penpals got to do with ptsd? >Please answer for those of use >who want to know why you are on here?
How does asking: "Why are you posting to teen penpal groups?" answer the question: "Why are you on here?" >Why are you posting to teen penpal >groups?
What business is it of ours or yours? And if you’re going to make it your business, take it to email, please. >This is not meant to be mean.
I hope not but I do wonder about your motives. >I just want to find out where you are >coming from and now you are getting mad at me?
Sheeeiiiittttt!!!! I’m angry with you about it and you’re not even asking me these questions! But it infuriates me to see this kind of interrogation of **anyone**! Why not just ask her where she’s coming from if that’s what you want to know? Why play games and taunt her into blowing up and attacking you? See the sick cycle you’re caught in? Here’s what I’ve seen since I first started lurking here. I see you picking and poking at people…not just Stephanie. <pick> <poke> <pick> <poke> until <POW!!!> Then you start going nuts because you’ve been attacked, triggered and/or hurt and end up getting lots of attention for awhile. Eventually the furor dies down and here we go again. <pick> <poke> <pick> <poke> <POW!!!> You can get out of the cycle, Lu. But you can’t get out if you keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. Repeating what you’ve always done will surely keep you in the cycle. Do something different for a change. If you want to know where Stephanie is coming from, ask her: Stephanie, where are you coming from? And IF she gives you and answer, accept it. Don’t insist her answer isn’t good enough and demand another explanation. Accept what she tells you and respect her right to not tell you if she so chooses. Does that sound doable to you? Holly

Stephanie: You have stated on more than one occasion that you have one son only. I really don’t give a hoot one way or the other, but your personal profile is there, and all your personality info is listed. Who else would it be? You say you have teenagers? I never heard of a 49 year old teenager. As I said, if you feel that you can ‘poke and prod’ others with questions, can’t we ask you? When you first started posting to this newsgroup, you said you did not have PTSD. Then, just a few days ago, you stated that you are FULL -BLOWN PTSD w/flashbacks. I am just wondering why this sudden change and when did it happen? Anonymous – I am not starting a flame war. I just would like Stephanie to answer these questions. There are just so many discrepancies. Best, Luanne

You mean IF there really is an Andy, if he REALLY has a pornography addiction, and now Steph says that she has a house full of teenagers??!! That is a new one. Lu

Hi Folks! > Don’t lurk…killfile or ignore my posts….you just don’t > understand.
This is BS. Most of us around here understand hypervigilance VERY WELL. Most of us around here understand that it is much easier to attack someone else, rather than work on ourselves. We know that we are very easily distracted from our own recovery. Paying attention to other folks and creating chaos is a survival skill, not a living skill. Most of us understand very well that the only safety in life is _within_ ourselves. A PTSD Chicken Little running around this ng saying "The troll is coming, the troll is coming" is not more helpful than the original Chicken Little’s "The sky is falling". Most of us understand fear/anger when we see it. I, personally, am sorry that you have chosen to share your fear and anger at someone in public on this ng. While I know that there is nothing I can do to reduce your fear/anger levels, there is a lot you can do for yourself in this department. Many of us understand that this ng is a public place. Using the archive thingy only feeds your illusion that you are sending private messages. Anyone who starts his or her browser anew for this ng gets the last messages, whether or not they are archived. If you don’t want someone to read your posts, don’t make them. We are each responsible for our own actions, including our posts. If you must choose to continue to share your anger and fear, I believe that private email might be more productive for you. You seem to feed your fears and chaos when you see your own posts on the internet where all can read them. I don’t care what you do for a living or where you have been before, either emotionally or physically, RIGHT NOW your choices are not the best here on this public ng. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

You said just the other day that you were having ‘flashbacks’ hence, my thought that you had full-blown PTSD. Also, you talk about yourself in third person. Another indication. Best, Lu

Still sore and stiff, but I can type a little better. I have to get some wrist guards!! Best, Lu
Response:
I don’t believe flashbacks are full blown PTSD. I think a person with PTSD will always be susceptible to flashbacks although they may not be as severe or as re occurring, or the person with PTSD may have over time developed a certain coping mechanism. Writing in the third person is not an indication of PTSD. It’s an indication that the author is a creative writer and chooses to use their creative license in their correspondence. Something you’ll have to get used to as I’m not changing my writing style. Stephanie: If you are having flashbacks in any way, shape, or form, perhaps you should seek the advice of a physician. This is serious stuff, and I do mean this with the best of intentions. It is not a jab. I don’t have flashbacks as far as my PTSD goes anymore….just a lot of nightmares. If I was having flashbacks, I would be seeing my doctor more often. Best, Lu
Response:
It’s too late for that I’m afraid. PTSD if gone untreated for too long is not curable. PTSD in most cases is not entirely curable, only manageable. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -LuanneP wrote: > >I don’t believe flashbacks are full blown PTSD. If you are having flashblacks, then you do have some sort of problem. I would get to a physician or therapist and find out what it is. As I have mentioned before, we cannot diagnose your problem here. Luanne
