Disorder

Question:

Glad to hear you are doing okay.  Surgery is not fun.  Keep a close tab on your blood sugar and moods.  Surgery can wreak havoc on these two conditions.  I had gall bladder surgery and I know afterwords I felt much better.  Gallbladder pain is incredible.  I would rather have given birth. From what I understand, kidney stones can be just as bad.

Lets just say that the last 24 hours have not been the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. ;-)         I just received my CCRadio and will be searching the airwaves soon for interesting stations to listen to. I have also ordered a special Antenea with a signal booster. hopefully, this new hoby of seeking out long distance AM stations will help keep me out of trouble. (That is if my wife doesn’t brain me for spending the money) Hugs, Ralph

Response:

"Funny" as in *curious* any more people with gallstones or other stones? I always wondered if there is a relationship.

Gallstones from too rapid a weight loss (3 slim fast shakes and an apple per day).  Several others I knew who used slim fast often also had their gallbladders removed.  I was 23 when mine was removed.  I’m 30 now.

Response:

Thanks for the laugh. I have this same feeling – some of the same feelings. It all gets a little older after awhile…..

No, there’s nothing wrong with disorder.  It’s just not what I wanted. Disorder is boring.  That’s it!  I’m bored with disorder.  I get it all the time.  I want something new with more piazzas.  You claim and unlimited menu.  Could I see it again? Sure, I’ll pay for disorder.  I still want to see the menu again.  I’ll pay for the new disorder also.  I am just bored with the same thing all the time. Thanks.  I see you have version IV of the menu now.  Have a lot of things change?  I’ really in the mood for something new and exciting.  Ah!  I see you’ve changed MPD to DID.  Could I have some the these disorders? This is fun.  Could I have a side of PTSD? Nah…I’m not worried about the cost.  Life’s too short for trivialities. In fact, I’ll keep disorder and just bring me the two new ones.  I feel insanely hungry today. Mmmm…I love disorder! Thanks, you have a good one too.  When does your Borderline Personality go on special? Next Tuesday?  I think I’ll come back and try it.  Sounds exciting. Oh…keep the change.  I have enough of my own. Colleen

A bigshot (but nice) shrink I used to see used to call the DSM "The Chinese Menu". Cheers! Emma (I am bipolar II and so is my cat)

Response:

I guess the DSM-IV is like the USA. It isn’t perfect, but its the best thing that we have going for us (From a US citizen’s point of view, anyway).         I have found a whole lot of information regarding PET scans of bipolar patients, taken during mania, during depression, and during symptom free periods. There is no longer any doubt that Bipolar Disorder is abnormalities in the structure of the brain in various locations. The discussion is how this knowledge translates into better diagnosis and treatments. It also appears that there are many variations of these abnormalities that result in Bipolar Disorder.         Do a web search for Dr. Wayne Drevetts, MD. or wait for me to finish compiling this information from his various reports and posting it on my website. For those who care: I survived my kidney surgery. Won’t go into gruesome details, just a lot of blood and a lot of pain. It seems they had a hard time finding the stone then they had a really hard time breaking it up because it was much harder than the "usual" kidney stone.
