Question:
I have recently convinced my psychiatrist after 3 meetings that I am a firm candidate for PTSD although I believe I have had symptoms of it for several months. Does anyone who is diagnosed have cold sweats at nights after a day of symptoms? It makes for a rough night alright! Take care all, Jeff

Yes, I have been having these and can’t stand it!! I wake up soaking wet all over and shivering like a wet cat. I’m not sure if it’s the PTSD, or if it’s the medication, or both. But I don’t like it. Macy

Hi Jeff! > Does anyone who is diagnosed have cold sweats at nights after a day of > symptoms?
Sleep disorders are common in those with PTSD. I don’t need a day of symptoms to wake up in a cold sweat. Some folks find it useful to make a sleep diary, recording not only how much and when they sleep, but also what happened in the 24 hours which might have caused them anxiety. This diary can be very helpful for the psychiatrist and therapist so that they can help you faster with this symptom. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

AC I too have similar problem with the lack of sleep. I have been prescribed various sleeping aid but without much results. I find that some sa would increase my violent dreams while other sa would make me feel paralyse in bed, which IMHO is worst then having reoccuring nightmares. So I have given up on taking sa and try to enjoy the little sleep I get when I get it. I only wish there was a way to do a complete shut down so I would stop having violent dreams. Oh well! Hmmm, that’s interesting to know, Morceaux.. I am on 150 mg of Effexor. Sounds like that could be the culprit. Anyone else?? Macy

I don’t break out is a sweat but I’ve had SEVERE sleep problems. Whenever my stress level increases my sleep decreases. In addition to all of the problems I have with PTSD, I just found out, about a month ago, that I’ve got a great case of sleep apnea. (It’s like getting hit with a double whammy.) My doctors have just written me off of work because the stress, they said (and I believe them), will kill me. "Jeff Brewer" <bre…@kahuna.sdsu.edu> wrote in message
