Bullies have NPD or ASPD!

Question:

I’m not crazy about the fact that kids carry guns either–I merely acknowledge it as a reality.  As there is no law that protects anyone any more, some become sufficiently desperate that they make their own.  I cannot condemn them for doing so. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -bobwhelan wrote: > "Dave" <johng…@cpinternet.com> wrote in message > news:3B984D5D.F49EA9E3@cpinternet.com… > > That bullies do not respond to reason is borne out in part by that > peculiar > > modern phenomenon, the "school shooting".  The usual progression is: 1. > kid gets > > picked on 2. alleged authority figures do not protect him. 3. bullying > gets > > worse.  4. picked-on kid gets depressed.  5. picked on kid’s parents take > him to > > a psychiatrist, who puts him on antidepressants.  6. kid on > antidepressants, his > > anger multiplied by the drugs and his inhibitions lowered by same, gets > hold of a > > gun and shoots someone, hopefully  the bullies. > > Whenever I read a story about a "school shooting", I find myself hoping > that the > > kid at least got his tormentors.  If not, I wonder if they would be so > bold if > > they knew the next kid they picked on might be packing heat. I just wanted to let you know that I’m a bully, but I don’t bully with guns, I bully with my eyes. That way no one can prove that I did anything. Very truly yours, Chris

This is a sure way to F-up a post.  U have a thread running, regardless of the topic, yet anyone who replies 2 the thread is having their reply cross-posted to the following NG’s: alt.flame.psychiatry,alt.support.depression.manic,alt.support.depression.me d ication,alt.support.trauma-ptsd,soc.culture.usa,soc.support.depression.mani c .  SIX other NG’s!!!  GREAT way 2 spread your personal problems around, nes pas? And folks cry ‘Bully" when they R blatantly supporting crossposting subjects or replies. I trimmed the header of this post so it will only appear where I want it: alt.support.trauma-ptsd. If U have something 2 say to this group, knock yourself out.  If you are SO chicken-shit that U need to involve multiple NG’s then let’s make it real interesting and let’s say start crossposting to alt.sex.pedophile.pictures or another ‘fun’ NG.  They’re out there and just waiting to pounce. I agree with you Dave.  It’s a sad state of affairs, but I think you describe the case of "bullying" accurately.  Ironically, the people who could protect kids against this behaviour, are IMHO, people who are afraid of being bullied but others in the hierarchy of power.  We just don’t have a society of Winston Churchill clones; it is a sad fact that the scum also rises.  That’s why we have laws.   Squiggles – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Dave wrote: > That bullies do not respond to reason is borne out in part by that peculiar > modern phenomenon, the "school shooting".  The usual progression is: 1. kid gets > picked on 2. alleged authority figures do not protect him. 3. bullying gets > worse.  4. picked-on kid gets depressed.  5. picked on kid’s parents take him to > a psychiatrist, who puts him on antidepressants.  6. kid on antidepressants, his > anger multiplied by the drugs and his inhibitions lowered by same, gets hold of a > gun and shoots someone, hopefully  the bullies. > Whenever I read a story about a "school shooting", I find myself hoping that the > kid at least got his tormentors.  If not, I wonder if they would be so bold if > they knew the next kid they picked on might be packing heat. Response:

That bullies do not respond to reason is borne out in part by that peculiar modern phenomenon, the "school shooting".  The usual progression is: 1. kid gets picked on 2. alleged authority figures do not protect him. 3. bullying gets worse.  4. picked-on kid gets depressed.  5. picked on kid’s parents take him to a psychiatrist, who puts him on antidepressants.  6. kid on antidepressants, his anger multiplied by the drugs and his inhibitions lowered by same, gets hold of a gun and shoots someone, hopefully  the bullies. Whenever I read a story about a "school shooting", I find myself hoping that the kid at least got his tormentors.  If not, I wonder if they would be so bold if they knew the next kid they picked on might be packing heat. "School shooters" are not heinous criminals–they are people who, in desperation, have realized that one can only deal with a bully by trading in his own currency.  School officials will not help the kid, nor will the police, nor will his parents. Perhaps we should start applauding those desperate kids–given enough of them, society might eventually get the message and start behaving itself. Bullying Studies Is the Bully in Your Life Mentally Disordered? Does the Bully in your life have a certifiable mental disorder? One option is the Antisocial Personality Disorder Here is the checklist according to TWD: It is a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of the rights of, others as indicated by 3 or more of the following: deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, or conning others for personal pleasure, or irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated assaults or conflicts, or reckless disregard for the safety of others, or lack of remorse, being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt or mistreated another person, or repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest, or Additionally, the person must be over 18, have had a record of similar behaviors before the age of 15 (been a childhood bully), and not be schizophrenic (which would account for some of the above behaviors). There you have it!! Another bully-related option might be the Narcissistic Personality Disorder Here is the checklist, according to TWD: The Narcissist exhibits a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, as indicated by 5 or more of the following: believes that she or he is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions), or has a sense of entitlement, unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations (e.g., subservience by others), or is interpersonally exploitative, takes advantage of others to achieve her or his own ends, or lacks empathy, is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others, or shows arrogant attitudes or behaviors, or has a grandiose sense of self-importance, exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without earning it, or is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power or brilliance, or is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of her or him, or requires excessive admiration. I certainly dont agree with kids going to school "packing heat" but you make a very good point Dave..
