That we can know, at least a little, those with whom we overlap. For me, the suggestion that all we can know is our individual reality, is a very sad idea. Just think about it If 2 circles overlap then 2 entities share the view of the reality that lies in the overlapping circles. You can now call it that you know a bit of each other, or share a view, or communicate, or have overlapping circles – well it is only semantics at that point – isn’t it No matter how big your circle (individual reality) gets – it is still yours and always yours – think about it. This is an interesting theory, but doesn’t it tend to ignore the empathy factor, which allows you to put yourself in someone else’s shoes an understand how they feel, even though you’ve never experiences whatever it is they are experiencing? Dragon It does not exclude things like empathy, love, hate or any feeling it is all part of your individual reality. All it means is that as a human – an individual you cannot see the absolute reality. Lets assume you dropped a hammer on your toe – Now I never dropped a hammer on my toe – other things yes – but not a hammer. Now I can imagine that dropping a hammer on your toe hurts. I can imagine "feel" your pain because pain is a part of my individual reality too. I can comfort you, feel sorry for you or have any other emotional reaction to your mishap. And so will most anyone. Even though some reactions from different people will appear to be identical – they still will be based on their individual reality and slightly be different. Individual realities can overlap a lot but I do not think they ever will overlap completely. See the concept of individual reality is used to demonstrate the fact – that we do not know it all and see everything tainted through our own glasses. And as I said earlier — where they overlap communication is possible and so i empathy and other emotions. A person for whom pain is not a part of his/her individual reality will not be able to communicate about pain with you as (s)he will have no concept of it. Now this said and if you accept it – well then this concept virtually demands from you to take any step possible to expand your individual reality – to add more levels to it – so to enable you to communicate more efficiently with other individual realities (people) which will aid in the enlarging of all realities involved in the communication. If you take this concept of individual realities – it helps explain very well how 2 people can have virtually identical events in their lives and live through them differently. How 2 soldiers can share the same fox hole and one emerges fine and the other is a wreck plagued by PTSD for example. Recognizing your individual reality and working on it can greatly aid you to deal with your events in your live. Especially if you have learned to use and expand the different levels of your reality. Now what is a level of your individual reality. Let’s take gravity for example. When you are born – your body knows gravity – it uses it to function. As you get older – you learn to walk – gravity will mean something different to you. It will be that thing that makes you fall on your butt. You know have experienced gravity at a new level of consciousness. Well you can experience and see gravity many different ways as you extend the levels of your individual reality – you can for example see it as dents in space – like physicists do. But you should maintain your earlier levels – so to understand the kid who keeps falling on his/her butt. It is your individual reality that allows you to give meaning to the world around you. It is what lets you put the events of life that you experience in perspective and make "sense" out of them. And if you work on controlling your individual reality and you have acquired some mastery of it and its levels. It allows you to see the events of live from different levels of it – and if you so choose – you can pick one that allows you to gain certain experiences from those events. Well I guess enough for now – before I write a book. Hey! Ain’t nothing wrong with a book! Also don’t know if this is quite OT here. In whose reality? See this might be an example for individual realities not overlapping – in his reality it is funny – in other peoples it is insulting. We do not know the absolute reality of it – only how it impacts our own reality. So it seems that it was not possible for peter to communicate his second sentence. Following the theory – expanding all realities involved might create an area where they overlap sufficiently enough to communicate his intent that he tried to express with the second sentence. But then the sentence might have been perceived just the way it really was intended. We will never know for sure – because to know for sure you would have to see the absolute reality – which you can’t. That just leaves you with the way that event impacted your individual reality. Well and that gives you some options – doesn’t it – after all it is your reality and you should have some control on how you take and interpret that sentence. Just to make sure I "overlap" here – not passing judgement on his sentence – just using it as an example – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Dragon darn are you back? (And maybe a little stab at those who take one religion to seriously) My apologies- I enjoy writing in riddles, with sarcasm (which unfortunately does not come through in NG) And also cause I do not quite buy that perpetuation circle bit. Maybe in some cases. My experience is more in the line that in many cases it works the other way around. Like my dad was an alcoholic besides many things – and well I don;t drink, do drugs – cause I saw what it does to you. I posted that one in other groups too. But did not xpost to here cause I know that is not appreciated here. Just thought maybe someone would get it here and maybe get a kick out of it or just to get the little wheels in the head turning BTW Peter P. if you are reading that – you was way off. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – darn are you back? LOL – guess you did not get it at all. … After all we all are descendants of some in-bread unfortunates who got I thought that it was an allegory, and you’re treating it as a literal truth.
Why – where is it written that you have to take it a certain way. The story of creation – like any story or any post including this one is open for interpretation. What you get out of it depends on what and who you are. Hey you can take that story the classical way that it means – don’t fool around and have sex, to an statement against eating apples to a justification for incest or an example of bad parenting – That is what preachers and politicians have been doing since the beginning of time – take a story and present it to the Sheeple in a way to further their agenda. kicked out by their parent to never return alive and get sent for punishment to Uncle Lucifer – and we all know what kind of sadist he is. So today there are 2 kinds of people around. Those who already managed There are millions of kinds of people around. Just because _you_ want to put everyone in one of two categories doesn’t mean that that’s the way they are. Perhaps your experience and imagination are limited.
Any classification begins with your POV or the POV presented in that story. And maybe if you think a little longer and listen around – Do you ever here "They are average people" It is usually "they are good or they are bad". This post in part is like a mirror – you can see it the way you want – depending on who you are – It appears to me that you like to see things in a way that make you feel superior and allow you to look down on those poor limited other people. So how do you like what you see? And maybe just consider that one: No human knows it all. All you know is your individual reality – that is how you see the world. Your individual reality is like a circle. Where your individual reality (circle) overlaps with someone elses communication is possible. So if something appears to be limited to you or cannot be understood by you – does not make it limited or stupid or dumb – just different. Only if you can claim that your reality is absolute and all encompassing – IOW You know it all and see it all and can do it all – Only then would you be able to confidently make judgement about anything you encounter. So unless you are Peter the Almighty – maybe intend to enlarge the individual reality you occupy by broadening your horizon and working on seeing the world around you in different and new ways. But then again – that’s just my opinion – I could be wrong – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – to break the cycle of abuse and bad parenting – and those who are still working on it. …

The current wisdom tells us that kids of bad parents most likely will become bad parents, that kids of abusive parents will most likely be abusive them selves. This is a cycle tough to break perpetuating over the ages. So where did it all start? Like with most everything there is the answer in scripture. Lets stay with the names Adam and Eve probably common to most everyone here. Well as creation goes. God created the Universe and everything and last God created Man – Adam. Now it was sunday and well for God ever since that creation business it has been sunday – God needs to rest and do Gods sunday activities. So little Adam was all by himself – no one to play with – no activities – No baseball games to go to – no parent to play catch with or Monopoly or such. So Adam got bored and he was nagging God (the parent). Finally he got to God and God made him a …. woman from his own rib – named Eve. So what did that make Eve? Same genetic material – either his sister or his daughter. Well anyway – God told adam to take his sister/daughter ever and go play and keep your hands out of the cookie jar (apple tree). Well we know kids and after some time they got their hands in the cookie jar (apple tree) with the help of Uncle Lucifer who is hell bent on sadistic stuff like torture, molestation and abuse. So God the parent found out and got really pissed and … well threw his kids (Adam and Eve) – out of his house (paradise) and told them never-ever to come back alive. If they were really good and loved God – God might take them back dead or send them to Uncle Lucifer for some torture and abuse – After all it is sunday and God can’t bother with some parenting issues. (well sometimes God gets mad and sends a flood or something – so better not piss god off) So Adam and Eve (still not quite clear if to consider them brother and sister or Father/Daughter) – definitely related got kicked out and told to go an be fruitful and not come back in their parents house. So they had some kids (well if that’s not incest then what is) and the cycle continued. One son killed the other and ran away – what a family life. So if someone today – a parent, family member or other member of the human race is mean and abusive to you -don’t be to hard on him or her. After all we all are descendants of some in-bread unfortunates who got kicked out by their parent to never return alive and get sent for punishment to Uncle Lucifer – and we all know what kind of sadist he is. So today there are 2 kinds of people around. Those who already managed to break the cycle of abuse and bad parenting – and those who are still working on it. And don’t be too hard on God either – God never had a parent – So where was God to learn what being a parent meant anyway, Free Spirit Founding Father of the Church of Personal Freedom First Knight of the Knights of Personal Freedom.
