Hi Helski! > As for your information I am no longer a Big mama I have lost 27 > kilos.Heh heh  am looking rather fab according to my friends and > family. My muscoskeletal system is happier.

Goodness, you have been busy while you have been away. :) Any special advice for those of us who need to do the same? And, I am glad that Yas seems to be settling down. Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Hi Nancy I lost the first couple of stones by chewing Panadiene Forte and being stressed to the max ( as a result ended up with esophogeal and stomach ulcers). After that I decided to keep going  with changing my diet. I was beginning to get my features back as in cheekbones and also I was becoming  less invisible to the opposite sex.Har har.Truly. I maintain a low carb diet. I eat some form of protein at every meal and lots of veges and fruit and nuts. I have always been health conscious with diet but now I eat very small amounts of rice pasta bread and potatoes and less often than I used to. My body responds well.It really is not difficult at all anymore. Yea Yas is a nice girl all growed up but we still have our moments. How about you? helski

Response:

Hi Helena! > I lost the first couple of stones by chewing Panadiene Forte

Well, I never lost weight (that I can remember) on codeine. :/  Of course, I’ve not yet had ulcers, either. > I maintain a low carb diet. > I eat some form of protein at every meal and lots of veges and fruit > and nuts. > I have always been health conscious with diet but now I eat very small > amounts of rice pasta bread and potatoes and less often than I used > to. I wonder.  When I’m on a low cholesterol diet, mine goes up.  Maybe, if I were to use the Adkins diet I would lower the cholesterol too.  Who knows? > How about you?

Thanks for asking.  Kip is still in college and working his summer school  way towards an associate degree in December (hopefully). And, he even volunteered to mow the lawn this summer. ???? Wonders never cease!  :) Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Amsazing. This simple inquiry has become the focal point of touching base amongst friends, I actually feel that I contributed something to the community. By the way Helena the word Mama was not prefaced by Big, petite perhaps:) Stay Well, John De

Your reaction is similar to mine when I discoverd that other drivers really do notice that I am also driving down the same road. :) Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Hi guys, It’s great to see your posts – it’s really good to hear how you’re all doing, and your kids, too. My kids are nearly 14 and 15 – so far, so good. :-) I’ve just started therapy again after nearly two years off, and while it’s stirring up a lot of stuff that’s hard to manage, I think it’s the right way to go – and the right timing. I’m kind of scared, though, so please wish me luck. :-) Hannah

It is hard work in so many ways isn’t it? But if you need to go there it will be worth it.Is it someone( therapist) you know ? Best Helsk

With two kids in their teens, you may need therapy no matter what your PTSD status is. :/ Excellent timing. :) Smile and there will be something to smile about! Nancy

Response:

Hi all, Just back from wonderful Cairns and hooked up to this thread. Nice to see the names catching up. Therapy when you have teenagers made me laugh big time. Kat is 18 now studying business and IT and somehow she has matured to a delightful young lady. Last year she was absolutely feral in her last year at high school. I almost walked out of life finding it too hard with PTSD and a feral teenager! My son Robbie is great mature 22 yo with ADHD that keeps forgetting to pay his phone bill and is presently house sitting for 6 months. Nice to think he might be thinking about leaving home! He’s great however. Wonderful story to tell I finally found Nemo in the tropical cay off Green Island a few days ago. Another goal I set 5 years ago with my recovery, was to do some diving/snorkelling. Finally after several trips to Mackay and Townsville, boat trips cancelled because of cyclones or mechanical failure I finally made it out to the Great Barrier reef two days ago. It was magnificent, the colours amazing and we were on a sailing yacht so it was so quiet. Nice to hear all here. Cheers Barb
