Any ideas for helpful contacts?

Question:

Hi all, I am making this post on behalf of somebody who was diagnosed with PTSD after an extremely serious violent assualt. He has realised that there is a major need to make non-survivors (particularly the police) aware of how PTSD can effect survivors and how they need to be supported after experiencing severe trauma. He is currently putting together a highly informative pamphlet about the condition and hopes to widely distribute it. I am making this posting in the hope that somebody may know of an interested and supportive psychiatrist or psychologist who would be happy to check that the information and terminology is correct and maybe provide a brief introduction. If anybody has any ideas about contacts or can forward this posting onto other people we would be very grateful. Also if there is anybody who suffers from PTSD as the result of a violent assault we would be interested to hear from you if you are willing to share your experiences, coping mechanisms or how you make your condition understood by those around you. Thank you in anticipation! Catherine Ingram Derby Mind Advocacy Service Kingsway Hospital Derby England advoc…@bun.com
