Colleagues and Friends: As many of you know, since 1999 I have been working with Dr. Edward Tick, a therapist who specializes in PTSD from the Vietnam War era, to organize the Sage Colleges/Sanctuary International Vietnam Learning and Reconciliation Study Tours. These tours have attempted to combine study of the geo-political and historical elements of the American war in Vietnam with a close discussion of the psychological impact on those who took part. And the trips have been very successful. Over the years they have brought together a very wide variety of travelers from scholars, teachers and students to Vietnam veterans and Vietnamese Americans all of whom have traveled and learned together within Vietnam. This year’s trip has already enrolled a good number of members who represent the same range of Vietnam vets, students and professors who have joined us in recent years.
