Question:
Who among this newsgroup have used the FenPhen protocol (or maybe it’s the PhenFen protocol) being touted by a Pietr Hitzig, M.D. from Maryland? He called me on the phone today (I don’t remember giving my phone number out). He swears this combo of stuff (I think it’s something about Dopamine and Seratonin) can cure agoraphobia, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a myriad of other physical and psychological disorders. Just wondering if anyone has used this. If so, what were the results? I am not one who goes looking for cures from just any old place and am quite leery of such practices. What most concerned me what this *doctor’s* seeming lack of knowledge regarding very basic medical terminology and symptomatology. Any info would be greatly appreciated. gisela angelina

Good grief! If a doctor canvassed for business out of the blue over here, he’d be struck of the medical register! Is this allowed in the USA? Just wondering if anyone has used this. As for his treatment methods, I freely admit I know nothing about them whatsoever, but I *do* know that he and his approach have been the subject of violent debate and furious rows on alt.support.depression. The best I can say is that both he and his system appear to be highly controversial. I really would urge you to ask about this over there as you would be bound to get a lot of feedback. Hope that’s some help, — Gary Cooper

I never heard of him or his method. If he was in the main stream of anxiety I would have both meet him and heard a presentation or two. The more things he claims to cure the less I believe him. Eugene Fee Valley Forge, Pa. 27 F some snow
