Any suggestions for when I am just too down and tired to exercise, even when I know it will be good for me. My meds seem to be keeping me tired a lot, too. TY
fight it. Exercise. It makes 1000% difference, and helps with the meds, too. Tampa here, too, by the way.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Hi. I am a new member here and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 26 year old male who has battled with PTSD ( Post Tramatic Stress ) ADD ( Attention Deficite ) and now possibly dealing with BiPolar Disorder ( Manic / Depressive ) I haven’t really found group treatment helpful and I don’t have the money to get a therpist, so I have been quietly dealing with this on my own. I saw my primary doctor and self-prescribed some Anti-Depressants, but they seemed to make matters worse, than better. I am hoping that by joining this group, I can find an outlet to help me with this and break free from the depression side of my life.
Hope you find what you are looking for and that it helps. Bill

I am 44, male, and have had a diagnosis of closed head injury, ADD, PTSD and major depression. Currently, I am seeing a new-to-me psychiatrist who is questioning the major depression part and is considering changing it to Bipolar II Disorder. He has prescribed me an anti-convulsant and it is addressing ALL of the problems – depression, ADD, PTSD, and some of the problems that may be associated with closed head injury. I have never experienced mania, it is not required for the diagnosis. The only things that still seem unaffected by the new medication regimen are the exagerrated startle response and the hypervigilance. I am completely off anti-depressant medications and feel better than I have in decades. There is a possibility that I may be prescribed a tiny amount of one, but that is a wait and see thing, the physician told me that it would take longer than six months to completely work out the medication for my condition. I haven’t really found group treatment helpful and I don’t have the money to get a therpist, so I have been quietly dealing with this on my own. I saw my primary doctor and self-prescribed some Anti-Depressants, but they seemed to make matters worse, than better.
Stop taking them and see a specialist, a psychiatrist. For me, anti-depressants never worked all the way, they either did nothing, addressed a few of the problems related to depression, or, in one case, made everything much worse. Effexor ruined my life and broke something in my nervous system which caused me to experience hundreds of micro-seizures per day from 1995 to 2002. Sine beginning on the anti-convulsant, not only have the illness symptoms improved, each day I have fewer and fewer of the micro-seizures, lately only one to two dozen per day. I simply could not stand taking the Ritalin nor any stimulant for the ADD since I did not like the grogginess. I am hoping that by joining this group, I can find an outlet to help me with this and break free from the depression side of my life.
This isn’t really a support group although support can occur through the group. Be careful and don’t let anything here get under your skin unless it really is in your face in real life. — Compute Free <http://debian.org<http://freedos.org<http://openbsd.org Help People <http://rawa.org<http://tibet.org<http://gadenrelief.org Do Something <http://www.msf.org<http://www.icrc.org/<http://icbl.org Now <http://www.foei.org<http://www.greenpeace.org<http://activist.ca
