Question:

I do feel some better-not as edgy. today I reflected on several things  what am I going to do about treatment? (this group is one- paxil is another- learning about ptsd, anger control and as I read more posts I find more ways) I need to be kinder and more understanding with my wife (she is bi-polar+ ptsd from a bad previous marrage) I must remember Im not the only one I hurt. took my meds and hope I can get some sleep tonight ( work tomarrow)

Hi Lee:-) >I do feel some better-not as edgy.

That’s great news:-) >today I reflected on several things >what am I going to do about treatment? >(this group is one- paxil is another- >learning about ptsd, anger control and >as I read more posts I find more ways)

Do you have a regular therapist with the VA? From what I understand there are programs and groups available for learning new ways to change behaviors and get a better understanding of how PTSD is cropping up in our lives. Next time you see him/her ask about them, I’m sure s/he’ll be happy to talk about what else is available for you, treatment-wise. >I need to be kinder and more understanding >with my wife (she is bi-polar+ ptsd from a bad >previous marrage)

Man, I hear ya on this one Lee. My girlfriend is PTSDed too. Now, when ever I’m out of sorts with her, I try to remember that this PTSD influences many of the ways I act and also many of the ways she reacts and vice-versa.. We talk about how it comes up in our lives and offer each other support. Is your wife getting treatment, my honey isn’t and shes been having a rough time. She reads this group, tho, and gets benefit from the women who share here, maybe one of these days she’ll post, too, she talks about doing that every once in awhile. >I must remember Im not the only one I hurt.

Yep, empathy is such a strong healing perspective, isn’t it? I know that when I’m depressed I have a tendency to become very selfish, everything revolves around how I feel, and that’s not fair to others who’re also going though similar troubles. >took my meds and hope I can get some >sleep tonight ( work tomarrow)

Even though my mood’s improving I’m still not sleeping very well. I’m gonna get some melatonin soon, maybe that’ll help, hang in there Lee, glad you’re posting here. ..the best is yet to come, BroVet

Hi Lee,     Hang in there, there’s a lot of support here in this group. I just got back this morning from the VA where my therapist gave me a book to read "Anger Kills"   my first thought was i don’t hae time for thisand I was getting pissed off about it. I got home decided to look at it so I could say I’d at least looked ar it, the next thing I knew it was 2pm, It was weird, there were a lot of things that i’d read and say that’s me. kind off scarey. I think I’m actually going to try and finish it this weekend tim – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Bro Vet wrote: > Hi Lee:-) > >I do feel some better-not as edgy. > That’s great news:-) > >today I reflected on several things > >what am I going to do about treatment? > >(this group is one- paxil is another- > >learning about ptsd, anger control and > >as I read more posts I find more ways) > Do you have a regular therapist with the VA? Hi Tim, Could I ask you a favor?  Who’s the author of that book?  Could you possibly give me an ISBN number for it?  (That’s in the first couple of pages of the book, where it gives the publishing date, etc.)  I think I should read that? Seems I’m always pissed off about something. : ( There’s got to be a better way of living than what I’ve been doing. Thanks, kat "timujinn" <timuj…@provide.net> wrote in message

here here, I’d like that info too on "Anger Kills" since I rarely even get to that anger because I feel like I’d kill someone if I tapped into it =/ The unexamined life is not worth living – Socrates

ok folks,   Anger Kills      Redford Williams , M.D. & Virginia Williams, PH.D. isbn 0-06-109753-5 published by Harper Press. So far the book hits a bit closer to home than I like , it feels like the authors were watching me before they wrote the book. tim – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -BaliKris wrote: > here here, I’d like that info too on "Anger Kills" since I rarely even get to > that anger because I feel like I’d kill someone if I tapped into it =/ > The unexamined life is not worth living – Socrates
