For me the emotional factor is that of desire. One must desire something to succeed magickally. You’ve really got to want it.

They are jsut that tools! I can use them and often do .. but I don’t NEED them that is the difference! when they become a crutch to work of any kind .. then you are in trouble! People who rely on tools, drugs etc to acheive a thing often are hampered from the real goal … but it takes time! Oh My sword has a fine "living steel "(non damscus patern weld) blade .. and deserved a name! Before you buy.

Very insightful post. I have been in my group for about seven years now. I would have to agree that I have an "Inner Temple" (nicely put) as well. I usually have protection all around me and of course through my HP. I’d like to speak to your first point about magick being fueled by will or emotion. I think that you must have both will and emotion. Desire has to be there, which can be fueled by both will and emotion. I think that as long as one is balanced (very important) that emotion is a GREAT fuel for your magick! I guess I would be more cautious (personally) to talk about my will where magick is concerned. Well, in the sense that I don’t agree with bending someone to your (my) will….except in extreme cases where I would be willing to pay the piper! Before you buy.
