Question:
ACESTAR, I’m glad you have the resources to take good care of Rosie. I’m also glad that you have the sensitivity to notice her mood and health in such an exact, intimate way. Please keep us posted as everything develops. I’ve been following Rosie’s story with interest since you brought her home. I especially remember the "find the bunny in the dirty laundry pile" story when the landlord was coming. Clearly, she is a good, loyal, loving friend and deserves the best you can give her. Sorry about the work thing and lack of leave. I think everyone on earth should be granted "family leave" time when pets need us as well as other humans. And, certainly, I think we should all get paid during our family leave. You are a great person, ACESTAR. If I ever get back to the Pacific N.W., I hope you will allow me to meet you. for you and Rosie I send cares along with roses, poetry and proses..(okay, I sorta stole that line from T*m(o) W*its(a)) trill – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Dear Friends My dear friend and housemate Rosie( a mini-Rex rabbit) was acting pecular tonight. In the first place the salad I gave her this morning was hardly touched – she usually wolfs this down in short order unless there is something she doesn’t like, and then she dumps it on the floor on protest. She was very reclusive and just not herself. As the evening progressed, she seemed worse and the recommended bunny vets were all out of town. I wrote to the House Rabbit Society – a resuce mission for rabbits and an important source of health and behaviour info. I ended up rushing her to the nearest emergency vet clinic 40 miles round trip and about $275.00 later ( which needed to go to emergency root canal redo sooner rather than later) -thank goodness for plastic! She is spending the night in bunny E.R. getting IV and other treatment. They will call if she takes a turn for the worse, I still have to pick her up in the morning and transfer her to her own doc – assuming she is in. I’m supposed to be at work at 8 and don’t have anymore time to take off this year. Feeling really sad and scared for Rosie. I’ve only had her since May but have really bonded with her. I really did not need any more stress in my life right now! Things are not going all that well. I’m not su*cidal or anything like that just really really stressed out and see no outlet in sight. ACESTAR

Hi ACESTAR What we do in the name of caring!! A life is a life isn’t it, and once we commit to caring, where do we draw the line We have always erred on the side of whatever we have already committed to, including pets Besides, they give the best unconditional love, we give back what we can. Prayers for Rosie! The cave dwellers

Hello ACESTAR, I am so sorry to hear that your bunny is sick. It is hard when pets become ill at a time when you cannot get imediate help. My old buddy kane took ill the other evening and there was absolutely no place to take him. The vets in my area will only see current patients for emergencies. I do not have a regular vet, due to living on a fixed income I take my animals to a clinic that is on a walk in basis but the fees are discounted so there is no place to get E treatment just have to stick it out till morning. I know you must be very worried about Rosie and I know how easy it is to get soooooo attached even in a very short period of time. I love my animals like my kids and I just have a soft spot in my heart for all animals. I am just babbling here as I am still a bit out of it but I just wanted to let you know we care and are sending healing thoughts on gentle breezes for you and Rosie. )))))))))))))HUGS(((((((((((((( Mags Before you buy.

Dear Mags thanks for the support. Her vet offered to take her home with her tonight as the clinic doesn’t have anyone there overnight. I will pick her up tomorrow and learn the in’s and out’s of post traumatic bunny GI stress and how to get an angry bun to take their meds. Hope she calms down befoe then. At least anger is a good sign as last night she didn’t have the energy to be angry or protest the treatments – except to chew off her IV. Thanks for the concern ACESTAr – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Hello ACESTAR, I am so sorry to hear that your bunny is sick.
