Post traumatic stress

Question:

As I read through the messages all have a single connecting theme. The pain from being hurt physically, mentally, emotionally from the various experiences that have been thrust upon the individual. Talk out thearpy is fine but what if you could get rid of the pain in a short period of time, say from an hour to several days? And in most cased do it yourself! Check out the book Freedom From Fear Forever

uhhhhhhh … this sounds more like the book "Final Exit" ;) karmagrrl

To the Doctor:         1) There is no such thing as a quick fix for anything            except changing a tire.         2) These people are supporting each other and offer            warmth and sincerity without disguise hoping to sell            something.         3) Real therapy takes years and shopping for the right            therapist; a book is never a substitute for therapy.         4) Trust is an important issue on this list.  I for one            never trust a salesperson.   tsk tsk tsk          – Marilyn —    |   |                           |___|                                  (____)                           O  O     SKATE ON, BABY!

Talk therapy is very limited alledged Doctor Durlacher – and these people who have been abused though negatively applied psychophysical interventions – must go in to positiviely applied psychophysical interventions to heal this. Which is why the quick fix never works. Getting Jesus – a three day seminar – or even a book is not helpful. They just become the new drug of choice, the new denial system. And in recovery groups – this unsoliceted promotion is found to be repugnant as it is not attractive. You are working against your own goal by doing this. But since you are such a smart learned doctor – you know all this already. Although I appreciate your input, Doctor, I hold no magical belief in a panacea. There is no such thing as getting rid of years of trauma in only one hour or several days. But then again, the abuse made me paranoid, fearful of risks, and not overly hopeful, so what the Hell do I know? Troll elsewhere, Doctor. Let me be the first one to tell you your add is most likely to fall on deaf ears here.
