Working – Can You??

Question:

I done the same thing all my life. I’ve never held a job for more then a couple of months. When it comes tax time I have to wait for 5 w2 to come back. But if you have all these other illnesses I would say those play a big part in your life. I know a little about lupus my mother had that. I watched her go through some big changes with that. Work causes me to become suicidal.  I become terrified at the thought of it or even just in anticipation of work.  Guess that’s why I’m considered disabled by the government.  I’m a virtual cripple when it comes to any ability to do even the most menial work. v – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> From: "Personalized Creations" <particl…@earthlink.net> > Organization: EarthLink Inc. — http://www.EarthLink.net > Newsgroups: alt.support.personality > Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 01:24:10 GMT > Subject: Working – Can You?? > Hiya folks ….. > Something I need to get out …… > For all my life ….. You have so much to contend with.  Wanting to as badly as you do should take you a long way.  But maybe set realistic expectations for yourself and make the goals reasonable. love, v – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> From: "Personalized Creations" <particl…@earthlink.net> > Organization: EarthLink Inc. — http://www.EarthLink.net > Newsgroups: alt.support.personality > Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 13:48:55 GMT > Subject: Re: Working – Can You?? > Problem is Helen ……. is that along with the borderline issues I fight > …… is this >>>>> > Lupus > Chronic Fatigue Syndrome > Fibromyalgia > Deteriation of Spine > Mitral Valve Prolapse > High Blood Pressure > Menopause (starting) > Severe PMS > So ….. you see …. just walking around Walmart for 1 hour, and I’m in > pain ….. and feel like I have a terrible flu, with chills, fever, body > aches ……. it’s terrible!  So, how on earth could I work …. stand …. > for longer …. and even sitting is extremely painful …. for long periods! > My business ….. Dee,,,,,        I understand how you feel, there are days that I want to run out of work,,,,there are day when I feel that it would be easier to get locked away in an insane asylum, than deal with the everyday pressures of life… I do keep going though because I LOVE my job. It took a while to find a job that I truly love.       The best thing you can do is give yourself some time….Dont rush,,,,check the classifids,,,go to job fairs,,,check the net,,,,,but most importaintly dont rush into one. Many times due to financial reasons,,,people just jump into the first job they can get, which is understandable with the economy right now,,,,,but if you can, search out every job,,,,maybe even try someout,,,,something new, maybe a change in carrer,,,and if you try a job and dont like it,,,dont hesitate to leave. You will find the one thats right for you.     Your home job,,,you said that you like that,,,,even if it is not busy right now,,,,maybe you can find something simmular, working for someone else,,, Sometimes large companys get more bussiness easier than you might on your own. I did that,,,I could not keep a job that long ago,,,went through a few and was not happy.  Thats when I just walked off the job as a waitress, went home, got changed and went and applied for a job as a hairdresser. I had a licence from years before, but never had enough conferdence in myself to do it before,,,once I tried it, I loved it.  Maybe thats what you need,,,even if you dont have a licence or anything to fall back on,,,,,just think of what you always wanted to try…Some jobs need very little school. Dammit, I’m missing posts all over! Yes Dee, I’ve had this problem for a llllooonnnngggg time now. Actually the only ‘real’ job I’ve had was when I was 17. I’m now almost 26. This has made it really hard to get back into it, and of course no experience doesn’t help. This is why I’m going into the pre-employment program. They handle issues like self-esteem and anger management (HA like I haven’t done THAT one before a million and one times), so hopefully it’ll help with some of my obstacles. -Nicki "HelenOdm" <helen…@aol.com> wrote in message
