Just because the onset of the headache correlated with a number of novel things doesn’t mean that any of them were causative (I could tell a number of embarrassing stories about the things that correlated with my first pregnancy that I thought/hoped were causative, but weren’t). Your son hasn’t had a headache since June.  That is good.  Maybe this was time for another headache (given his current state of health, stress, whatever) and nothing you could have done would have prevented it. It’s possible that the phenomenal growth spurt is linked to the headaches in a benign way – maybe the arteries aren’t quite keeping up with other aspects of the growth.  Do for sure have brain scan, sleep test and anything else that will help rule out nasty stuff. "> And Benita’s right….no blaming yourself for anything TSNW. Heck, yeah! Blaming yourself is understandable, but, I must say, in my clinical opinion, TSNW, "CUT IT OUT!!!" :) Turn the frame around – if it weren’t for your diligence, ability to learn the medical issues,  research abilities, advocacy abilities, perseverence in seeking out different docs and experts,  etc etc, God KNOWS what shape your son would be in right now! He probably owes his very LIFE to you! I’m confident that you’ll get to the root of this, but in the meantime, will you PLEASE be gentler on yourself? I am sure *HE* doesn’t blame you. TSNW, don’t beat yourself up. let us do that ;) Best, Jo

I, too, feel so bad for TSNW, her son, and their ongoing frustration (and pain) :( ( But, I must say I also feel so ‘helpless’ that Leslie is impotent. Are you sure you don’t spell it "Lesley"? :–) I know I will pay for this :) jo’s alter ego

Thanks, Benita.  It has been almost ten months.  I just got sick of all the doctors and being lectured about having him on antibiotics for so long and some of the quackery in the Lyme community, and decided to just take him off the antibiotics to see what happened.  It was wrong of me, because I *should* have thought to at least wait until school break in December, rather than to assume that *I* knew best.  It would have been easier to sort out if the catapres would work if I had not stopped the antibiotics.  Now I won’t know unless we decide to try it again sometime in the future. — Tourette Syndrome – Now What? http://members.home.net/tourettenowwhat

I will press for new EEG and sleep study … What is school good for, anyway? — Tourette Syndrome – Now What? http://members.home.net/tourettenowwhat
