I think I do anyway. I think about how I was before I knew I was depressed. Sometimes ignorance IS bliss. I thought I would get depressed before but I didn’t think I had a problem with depression. Now I know this is a long term thing. Fade in Fade out like % says. I really don’t think that there is a cure for depression. Sure there are medications to help crashes feel less devastating when they happen and to make you feel more self confident; therapy which can be painful but necessary DOH! and make you take uncomftorable challenges; there’s even this group which cares and makes you feel good when people respond to you, extremely addictive actually hehehe. I love ASD. But all of these only help to curb the feelings of depression. There is no real cure. Thank god for that, I think I actually like the bad feelings sometimes, it let’s me know just how good I’ve felt in the past and gives me hope for the future. If you don’t feel bad at some point you’d never know just how good the good is. Without a crash or being depressed the good would become normal and you’d feel good all the time with no change in mood… good would become numb. My own demented opinion. I believe in the "kindling sensitization" theory as it applies to affective disorders–espec. depression. Therefore, I try to halt depression and anxiety immediately upon their presentation. I make an important distinction between the pathological states I refer to above, and reactive, normal anxiety and melancholy. JM – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Why are you so nervous? it’s a floating type of anxiety , it comes and goes , if i knew why i guess it would go and not come back , maybe not though , the only difference would be , i’d now know why i feel that way when i do ? I feel many different types of things. I suspect that I will always have episodes of different feelings in the future, so I don’t try to get rid of my feelings. I find that it is useless to get rid of different feelings, so I sort of get used to it. The feelings are still there, but I don’t let that distract me from doing what I need to do: go to work, go shopping for food, etc. I hope this is helpful.

but don’t you think the possibilities lie more in the search than in the experience? The telephone rings… I leap one foot in the air. This happens every day. I hear people’s half explanations… knowing they have ‘chopped off’ the bottom part… the important part. I wonder what that was sometimes. The unsaid parts. — "I do not know" – GlennT Learning to let go… http://people.A2000.nl/gthomas/GlennHome.htm

it’s the whole purpose for me being in therapy , well that and a little addiction thing , so yes , my therapists and i have discussed it throughly many times . I take it you’ve discussed this with your therapist? I think when you’re nervous of one thing the feeling can spread to an all pervasive fear of everything. It may be a simplistic take on the situation but if you got beaten as a child I think it’s likely that that’s the cause of your nervousness now. * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!

yes , i’ve had tons of them , some i liked some i didn’t , the one i have now , i don’t really like , but they are very good . so naturally i don’t like her . she knows when i’m b.s.ing , and makes me talk about stuff i’d rather not talk about , so , i don’t really like her , but how she is is what i need , i don’t know if liking is all that important when it comes to what i need ? Have you chopped and changed therapist a lot over the years before you found someone who could help? I disliked the therapist I went to see inside of the first hour. I think she’s going to learn to dislike me pretty quick. Have you ever had that – not liking your therapist.
