Any one have links to statistics or info or stories of spouses from broken homes

Question:

My spouse was from a broken home, And from what info I think i have, Some of her childhood was being witness to her parents beating each other any way they could including physically, Wife says they "Just hatted each other" I’m sure there is more that I don’t know then I do. Hoping to find info that may help a spouse recognize today’s marital troubles with past childhood experiences. Trying to save my marriage. Steve

Response:

Hi, Steve. It would not be surprising to learn that your problems are partially the result of your wife’s past experience. In fact, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) can be caused by witnessing violence to someone else. You don’t have to be the victim. There could be many other factors affecting the current state of your marriage, though. Your post doesn’t really contain any details about the state of your marriage.
