How do explain to others what PTSD is ?

Question:

Does anyone have any thoughts on this communication subject ? Thanks for the input ?

Response:

Post (after) Traumatic (very hard on) Stress (pressure) Disorder (not in order, not normal) In WWi n WWii, the subject was called shell shock. In Korea and ‘Nam it was considered shame. Rape victims were put on trial instead of the other way around until it was proven that 2 years and 84 year old women do not provoke rape from the opposite sex. Hurricane victims are being treated as PTSD victims nowadays. Children who witness shootings are being treated as PTSD victims as well. Situations which happen out of the norm and are not treated with love and understanding can become PTSD victims down the road. In a veteran, there are several things that a human being will act and react in that classifies them with PTSD. I’m not sure about those outside of the vet world as the subjects i’ve mentioned have been dealt with from my past and i don’t have anymore problems with them.
