Question:
In simple terms: Xanax and Ativan are both quick-and-short-acting benzo’s. Xanax seems more popular these days. YMMV. If Xanax works for you there’s no reason not to take it and the same goes for Ativan. All benzo’s are CNS depressants (as is alcohol BTW) but this doesn’t have anything to do with what’s commonly known as *depression*. Xanax, unlike Ativan, has a slight antidepressant component. I like ativan more. I also find it works better for my depression than xanax. I know that xanax has antidepressant component, still it seems to make me tired and worsen my depth perception on things. You may be surprised, but Ativan certainly doesnt make me tired. It sedates the body *and* stimulates the *thoughts* . That
