Question:
I am 49 years old. About 5 or 6 years ago I startet having panic atacks. The first time it happened I was convinced I was having a heart atack and called an abulance. In the hospital they told me it was panic disorder. I was completely surprised, how could it be? I felt OK psycologicaly and I din’t have any reason to be in panic, I thought. Since this first time I had several other episodes. Only now I know what it is, but to convince myself of it when it is happning is always a problem. I read books and saw that cafeine and sugar can complicate the problem. So I stoped to use both sugar and cafeine. Palpitations, which I had a lot stoped completely and other symptoms are much less intense, but they wouldn’t go away completely. I forgot why (I know I red something about it), but I started to take vitamine B1 and B12. I have been without the symptoms for more than a year. Sometimes I feel a slight symptom, like agitation or other, and I remember that I have forgoten to take them for a few days. I have tryed other bitamins and don’t work. The last several months I have been thinking to try only one or the other to find out if it is B1 or B12 that does the trick, but I haven’t ventured to try afraid of the symptoms. Mabe it is the placebo effect. However, I feel that it is not because other vitamines and minerals I tryed didn’t work. Anyone knows anything about the prossible action of vitamines? Hi Tony! I don’t know about the vitamin part. I still take meds for my panic/anxiety. I’m very glad that you have had success with the vitamins, though. Whatever works, do it! Stay well! Di

Tony *****dear Tony. Vitamins are approved by the USfda for sale as nutritional supplements. They must contain the percentage rates allowed. Sometimes we do not eat well and do not recieve the benefits from the food we eat. Although the supplements are not in place of eating a good meal, they do supply what the daily requirements we need as adults. Vitamin B-complex is good for the nervous system. B 12 is very good too. My doctor told me to take Vitamin B-complex 50. I found a very good price of B-complex at Walmart…and it is a time release. You can look up Vitamin information at DrKoop.com. Don’t go to a site that SELLS the vitamin. You want just the info on the vitamin. Best of luck.Julie
Anyone interested in the use of different kinds of supplements and *medical targeted food* will find a lot of good advice (I think) in the FAQ about this on Shipko’s site at http://www.algy.com/pdi Philip – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –

In article Julima, Do you feel any different since you’ve been taking the B-complex 50 ? I take a Centrum multiple vitamin every day but my sister (RN) told me to start taking a B-complex for my CNS. Tony Banana (Note: Banana is fun to type, try it some time.
******Dear Tony The biggest difference that I notice with the B complex is that I no longer have restless legs and I do not jump in my sleep, which the sleep foundation is researching that a vitamin b 12 deficiency can cause the restess legs and the jumps at night. From my own experience, and other people I’ve talked with, taking extra B and C vitamins and calcium can really help with panic attacks. Also, if you can do it, a good aerobic exercise program and drinking a lot of water helps too (cleanses the system). People have panic attacks for many different reasons, but if they are caused by stress or a vitamin deficiency, this could help. Diane746 – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I am 49 years old.
