Question:
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a video tape that
I can throw in my VCR to help me get through bad panic attacks? I need something to bring to the cottage with me
‘just in case’ and I think a video tape would really help.
Relaxation cassettes just aren’t doing the trick anymore.
We are going to the cottage tomorrow for the first time since
my recent relapse. It’s scaring me half to death but I’m going
anyways. Wish me luck!!

Regarding video tapes, we have found that humor can be a very effective way to cope with anxiety. If you bring a few comedies with you, that might help. Wishing you luck! Oh, BTW, I had the wildest dream last night. I was visiting a friend for his birthday over in Germany and somehow ended up visiting a number of panic disorder clinics over there. It rained allot and my German language skills were inadequate, but the good news is that I didn’t have any panic attacks. Not exactly a real success story, but a success nonetheless.
Best Wishes, Arthur

Carla: One of my favorite videos of all times is titled "What About Bob?" with Bill Murray. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the movie, but it’s hilarious. I guess the best part is the ending….he went from being a completely multi-phobic personality to becoming a psychiatrist himself, while driving his own psychiatrist nuts!! Talk about a success story!! I liked the movie so much, I bought it (only $6.99 at Wal-Mart). Anyway, that would be MY suggestion for a cute, funny movie to enjoy on the weekend! Have a good, *calm* trip, Aimee

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. When I have a attack coming or really high anxiety if I snuggle tight in a blanket in a safe place and my husband reads children’s stories to me or we watch a kids movie with all happy parts usually the whole rest of my day is panic free.
