Question:
Hi All!! Had some questions. I was dignoised with panic disorder w/agoraphobia back in Dec. My pdoc started me on klonapin which helped mininize the panic attacks. Then month after that she started me on prozac 20mg. 1st two weeks was horrible. Felt very anxious and jittery all day. Couldn’t settle down. Always running all over the place. The doc lowered prozac dose to 10mg. What I am now experience is alot of highs and lows. One day i’m on top of the world and next minute I crash so damn hard. Crying my eyes out for no apparent reason. I wake up feeling so blah and just so exhausted from the depression that has set in. Is this common side effect for prozac?
Not common but it happens. I’d stop taking the drug if it were me and I’d switch to one out of that family of chemicals. Like, no fluovoxatine, flouvoxamine, like that. Cuz I have my panic disorder pretty much under control…just now hit with depression from out of the blue. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If panic is a problem maybe a tricyclic like doxepin, Sinequan, would be a good bet. They can be kind of sedating. —
