I’m in the same situation at this moment so dont worry, you are not alone. We will be better one day according to therapists! Have a nice day! Matt

I used to have a lot of anxiety and panic. There were times when I would have several panic attacks a day. Since starting luvox and buspar, I have have very few panic attacks in the past couple of years. The ones that I have had were very subdued and tolerable. The greatest gain from this has been that I do not live in fear of having panic attacks anymore. The fear of a panic attack added up to more than the attack itself. — Take care of your "self". whatatrip rbol…@premier1.net

This statement kind of described my life in a nutshell. I used to have panic attacks a lot (before I was diagnosed with depression and OCD). Since I have been through therapy and on medication(what a difference), the attacks have been extremely rare. I used to live in total FEAR of having panic attacks and came darned close to becoming agorophobic due to it. I went to work and came home and that was my life for the longest time. At my worst part, I almost stopped working. Even going to the grocery store put me into a panic. Medication and therapy turned my whole life around. I still don’t like to travel long distances, but at least I can run around and do the daily things that most people do (and take for granted).

Panic attacks seem to be reasonably common among people with OCD and other anxiety disorders. If they are triggered only by things related to your OCD then we would not give you a second diagnosis of panic disorder. If they occur "out of the blue" then you may have panic disorder as well. In either case panic attacks can be treated with a number of medications, cognitive behavioral therapy or a combination.
