No, I haven’t read the book, but I’ve read a few books about the best nutrition etc. for cycling and long distance walking. In all cases it says that carbs are a slow release energy food, and the best thing to eat before excercise. Some athletes ‘carbo-load’….eat loads the day before an event. Protein should only be eaten at the end of the day (but not too late, not good to sleep on) it’s a kind of repair food and takes longer for the system to digest, and makes you feel tired. Sugar is a quick high, but a bad idea because of the sudden lows. If you feel hungry between meals don’t munch a chocy bar but a bannana! Jo.

Everyone should know that caffeine is a stimulant and should be avoided as much as possible to help assist in avoiding panic attacks and anxiety.  I hope you find some of these stats helpful. Caffeine content of coffee, tea, and cocoa (milligrams per 6 oz. cup) Coffee, instant 60-70 mg Coffee, percolated 90-110 mg Coffee, drip, 120-150 mg Tea bag 5 min brew 50-60 mg Tea bag 1 min brew 30-40 mg Loose tea 5 min brew 40-50 mg Cocoa 10-20 mg Chocolate (dry, 1 oz) 5-10 mg Decaffeinated Coffee (yes decaffeinated)  3-10 mg Caffeine content of cola beverages (milligrams per 12 ounce can) Coca-cola 65 mg Pepsi-cola 43 mg Dr. Pepper 61 mg Mountain Dew 50 mg Pretty interesting huh?  If you have to have a soda……Pepsi is the safest choice for people with panic disorder.  I would recommend caffeine free pepsi as well.  But remember even the caffeine free drinks have some caffeine in them.  Avoid this stuff after 1pm to help get a good nights sleep too. Other things with caffeine: NoDoz, Dexatrim, Anacin, Excedrin, Midol Hope this helps someone, Xanman Exactly where is the panic button anyway?
